Here's the card that I submitted to Simply Scrapping for their member spotlight challenge. You had to include:
1. Shades of purple must be used ( at least 40% must be purple)
2. You must use 2 different lettering products
3. You must use one circle
4. You must use 5 Buttons
Submissions are due July 3rd. If you have some time, scoot on over and take a crack at it.
Supplies: Bazzill Dotted Swiss card stock, Making Memories (sticker letters, journalling spot), Crate Paper (letter rub ons), Creative Imaginations (image)
Feeling a bit patriotic, am I? With the announcement of the next winner being on the Friday before July 4th, I felt the need to include some stars. And, I am a star junkie. I'd have to say that if I have a fave shape, a star would be it.
Link to the comments section your page or card that goes with this sketch, or you can also click on the sample sketch in the right sidebar to e-mail me your link to or image of your entry.
Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! The prize for next week will be from Pink Owl Paperie. (Thanks, Renee!!) Here is just a sample of her scrappy goodness to get you ready! Stop by her shop and pick up some of these goodies before they're gone!
Thanks for playing along with this week's challenge. Below are all of the entries for the previous sketch.
Thanks to Jennifer from Half Full Martini for donating some great prizes!
And now, to announce a winner. For those who are new to SKETCHY THURSDAYS, I can't just pick someone because I think all of the pages are beautiful. So, I chicken out and use the random number generator.
We're here for fun, so I keep it random.
The winner this week is: Brittney. Visit her blog here to see more of her work. Thanks for playing along! I love how bright your page is, and the stitching on the cloud is adorable!
Brittney, e-mail me your shipping address to dianadesigns@rochester.rr.com

I will get back online later today and post the next sketch. It looks like everyone had so much fun with this one!
AND... I have another fantastic Etsy seller, Pink Owl Paperie donating some fabulous prizes for the next sketch winner! Until then, visit her store and do some shopping!
Jennifer runs the Half Full Martini blog and makes wonderful journaling spots and tags that she sells at her shop on Etsy.
I asked Jennifer a few questions and here's her story:
I am from Memphis, TN. and started paper crafting when I was a kid. I have always loved creating, especially with paper. I could spend hours on my computer designing new paper goodies.
I really got serious about selling my items about two years ago. I was creating pieces for friends and friends of friends, so I decided to expand my horizons and open up my Etsy shop.
I was working full time then so I didn't get to spend a huge amount of time on it, plus the birth of our second child left little time to create. I quit my job of 14 years last year to be a stay at home mom.
I also have a monogramming business that keeps me busy as well. I like combining both monogramming, sewing and my paper crafting to see what I can come up with.
Thanks, Jennifer, for sharing! Everyone, check out her shops. Here are some of the items in her store that I think are just darling.

Jennifer has graciously donated a cute prize pack of her scrappy goodness for the winner of this week's sketchy challenge. So get your entries in! The sketch is on the right sidebar. E-mail your page or card to me at dianadesigns@rochester.rr.com or post a link to your creation in the comments section today.
Thanks all, and thanks again, Jennifer!

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket (pp, chipboard), American Crafts Thickers, Basic Grey (sticker letters), Daisy D's ribbon, hemp twine

A co-worker of mine adopted recently, and of course we wanted to celebrate. This is the card I made.
Stars were important to the family so I knew that I would include those, but what to do to celebrate an adopted child that is a year old? You don't want it to be too 'baby.' And in the same right, it isn't a birthday card.
I think this card did a good job of announcing the celebration of a new, younger member to the family. The inside had a sweet message: "Some moments are worth holding in your heart forever."
Do you have any suggestions for adoption cards to share? I'd love to see them. Link them in the comments section.

In honor of Father's Day tomorrow, I wanted to share two cards I made, just to get your creative juices flowing in case you have to make your cards today!
If you have any Cosmo Cricket Lil Man paper or embellies, get 'em out! They are the perfect for that manly card.
Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Lil Man (pp), Cosmo Cricket Lil Man (chipboard), American Crafts Thickers (Rockabye), jewelry maker's twine, buttons
Hello! Today I am posting the page I made using the June kit from Vintage Plum. It's called Alphabet Soup and it had some great pieces this month. I'm way behind on playing around with it, so this is all I have so far.
I cut the heck outta that kit! I can't remember the last time I hand cut so many pieces from one sheet of paper (the Girl Friday sheet from Cosmo Cricket was butchered! So much good stuff on that sheet)!
I pop-dotted almost everything. I'm not sure if you can tell in the pictures, but there is a great 3-D quality to this page that I love.
If you need a new, fun kit to play with, cruise on over to VP, there's some fun stuff over there.

Want to spice it up? Add stitching (by hand or machine) to your page this week. You don't have to, but some people like a bit more direction or criteria for their challenges.
Again, a huge thank you to everyone who is playing along! As always, send me your ideas if there is a page that you really want to finish and are stuck on.
