Christmas tree cards & tags

Hello! Today I am playing along with the Cameo Spotlight challenge to use triangles. I used the Christmas Tree Layered file by Lori Whitlock.

I made 2 cards and 2 tags using four double-sided 6x6 Echo Park Paper sheets set up only once. Here is a screen shot of the cut set up:

I saved it as a studio file and can now load it whenever I want to make a few quick sets of holiday trees for tags and cards. The set up only works if you have double-sided papers for the layering.

I love this gold washi tape! It adds just the perfect touch along with the pearl accents. Feeling pretty festive today!

A wedding card

Hello! Yesterday my co-workers and I celebrated the upcoming nuptials for one of our dear friends. This is the card that I made and we all signed for her little party. Congrats, Theresa! Can't wait for the wedding in October.

I used the Cameo to cut out the dress and the hexagons are from a Studio Calico sticker sheet. And I just love those little pearls added to the bottom.

Fall wreath

As I told my dear friend, Sara, Sept. 1st is game-on for fall decorations. I love fall and the colors that go with it. And decorating my house in these warm fall tones makes me happy.

Here is the wreath I made for my door this fall. I'll have it up until Black Friday when I start to decorate for the winter season.

Baseball layout {imaginisce}

The design team at Imaginsice was challenged with creating a layout or card using an odd shape, 3 pattern papers, the color orange and the i-top tool. Here is what I made using those requirements.

I chalked the kraft paper to give it a leathery look, and the stitching is some embroidery floss I had laying around. I did use the Cameo to cut out the mitt. I had to alter the die cut I purchased from the Silhouette store a little bit to make it work at this size and without any other cuts in it — just the outside cut.

Project Life {part 3}

I'm back with some more of my Simple Stories album for Project Life. This has been such a wonderfully fun project. I like that everything is in a little book like this and that I can save all of his school stuff in one place.

This page has is bus assignment in it and pictures from the first day when he got on the bus. He was so excited to have the same bus driver that he did last year. When he got home that first night he told me that he wanted to buy Miss Linda flowers since she was his bus driver again. Too cute!

This last page is his note home from the teacher. He was misbehaving in the lunch room on that first Friday and the note said that on Monday he was going to be eating lunch in the Principal's office as his punishment. I had to save this because, as expected, Nate thought it was fun to eat in there — not a punishment at all. Oh no! It's going to be a long year!

Jewelry gift box {using the Cameo}

I found an old jewelry-making set I had back from when I was running my Etsy shop and made a few rings last week. When my boss asked if I'd make one for his daughter I had to go the extra step and use my Cameo to make the box, too!

I used the Jewelry Gift Box by Rivka Wilkins from the Silhouette store and paper from My Little Shoebox.

I sure hope she likes the gift as much as I loved making it! Is it just me, or is this stuff just too fun?! Thanks for stopping to see my little Cameo project today.

Cocoa Daisy {Aspen Grove}

Wow! Here are Christine's tags for the October Aspen Grove kit for Cocoa Daisy. I spent some time with the kit earlier this week and I love it! I'm a huge fan of fall, and these colors just call to me.

I scooped up the Switchback add on and also the Embellishment pack. Great choices and I highly recommend them! Though you can't go wrong with any of the add-on options.

These are the stamps for October. Those faux washi stamps are amazing! And I love the tabs, too. I can see getting a lot of use out of these.

There will also be a Halloween project kit. I recommend you scoop it up right away if you'd like one — they will go fast!

Snag 'ems {imaginisce}

This week the Imaginisce design team gals are sharing their work using the Snag 'em stamps. I love stamps, and I especially love how cute the Imaginisce stamps can be. They always coordinate so well with the collections.

I made two treat boxes using the Cameo and a Lori Whitlock download from the Silhouette store. They are the same download, I just adjusted the cut so that one could be taller than the other.

These are so fun, right? I did use Copics to color in the ghost and the face of the vampire so that they have some shadows and depth to them. Hard to tell in the picture — but they look cute.

Project Life {part 2}

Hello! Sharing some more work with my project life binder. It isn't a new school year without the new bags. Nate got a big boys top-fold lunch bag. He's in first grade now, so it can't be a baby's bag (or so he says).

And it's all about the backpack. Nate chose this Batman backpack when his summer camp started, but I consider it a victory that it made its way to the start of the school year. That is one tough bag!

I love how the school-themed supplies I gathered over the last few years can now be used all in one place. It's been such fun digging through my stash and scrap bags for this binder.

Color challenge {ScrapFIT}

It's that time again! I have a color challenge for you at ScrapFIT. There is the fabulous FITkit from Paper Issues that we have as a giveaway for you for playing along.

The layout I made uses scraps of navy, gray and white from many different brands. I think that's the best thing about the color challenges. I get to dig through my scraps and compile a mis-matched layout. 

If you can read the journaling, it's about how my son is a baseball super star but took forever to learn how to swing. It's been funny watching him learn though.

Project Life {first grade}

I did it! I finally started a project life album. I'm using the binder from Simple Stories because it is a smaller album (6" x 8"). If you read my blog, you know I scrapbook 8.5" x 11" layouts most often, so it makes sense that I wanted something smaller for this project, too.

I'm so excited, too, because my friend Renee is doing hers along with me. So far we've had one little crop together to work on our books. Sara Z. from ScrapFIT bought the same binder, too, and is virtually joining us from her neck of the woods. These things are always more fun with friends.

This first page is a tab for fall as well as the cover page. I didn't want to decorate the outside of the binder, but I did want to still have some kind of cover to it.

This first page also has a pocket on it for Nate's class announcement. I folded it up and used washi tape to hold it in the pocket. 

The first graders were invited to the school the week before classes started to find their cubbies and also choose their desks. Nate realized that his friend from Kindergarten was in the cubbie next to him. It was the highlight of the day.

So that's it for now — I'm just so glad to have it started and to have friends working along with me. This is going to be a great project! Thanks for stopping to see my new adventure!

I'm playing along with the Cameo Spotlight challenge blog this week. I couldn't pass up the chance to use this coffee cup card I downloaded right away after getting my Cameo but hadn't used yet. All of the fall coffee and latte flavors have me craving coffee even more than usual. If that was possible...

Puzzled {scrapbook circle}

One more layout using the Talk of the Town kit from Scrapbook Circle. Of course, there is so much goodness in this kit I could fill the rest of the month with layouts using just the kit! 

This page uses the fabulous Lily Bee papers and accents from Amy Tan. The colors go so well together.

The photos are from my camera phone. I snapped a few pics of Nate while he was putting together a few puzzles. He sat down and did three puzzles that day.
