I'd like to say this is the last you'll see of Christmas pages, but to be honest, I took a lot of pictures! :) This page does have a few special purposes, though.
It was made with mostly the Scrapbook Circle January kit (I threw in the red Thickers and the snowflakes, but the rest is Scrapbook Circle). The Pink Paislee Cupid line seems to work out really well for Christmas, as well as Valentine's Day!
The prompt over at Scrap That Poetry was Twas the Night Before Christmas... and I just squeaked in! The page is due by 10 a.m. today, so here it is! Just in the nick of time!! (Saint Nick... that is!)
The story behind this page is really cute. A family friend (who is pretty much another uncle or cousin), Kevin, plays Santa every year for the family Christmas Eve party. The older kids have caught on, but there is a whole new batch of younger kids that completely believe that this is the real Santa and that he is making a house call. It was amazing! This is the first year Nate was really, really into it.
And that bottom picture, where Santa is looking Nate right in the eye with a knowing look... yep, he was telling him to be nice to his mom, dad, grandma, papa and not to get any more strikes at school.

And ... It's Thursday!! It's time for your newest Sketchy Thursdays sketch challenge. Here is the latest sketch for you to play along with. The sponsor this week is Meyer Imports. Check out the Sketchy Thursdays challenge site for the details on the yummy prize they have put together for you all to play for! I'll give you a hint... Meyer Imports sells glitter.
So there you have it! A little poetry, a little more Christmas and some sketchy goodness for you! See you all in 2010... Have a great New Year!
I've seen a few Top 10 countdowns and best-of posts for the 2009 year, and I love the idea of that. Then, my new friend Julie at My Favorite Things challenge encouraged us to pick our #1 favorite layout and link it up to the challenge site. Well, when Julie speaks, I listen (lol)!
If you haven't found this challenge yet, check it out. I am putting it on my 2010 list for challenges to make time for, because I really do love the concept for this challenge site. And the people there are fabulous!!
So here are my top 10 runners up from this year with the #1 at the end as my submission to the Favorite Things challenge.

The above layouts are in no particular order, just kind of as I pulled them from my folder, but this is my #1 favorite layout from 2009. The infamous 9/24 Sketchy Thursdays sketch, my "This Daddy" page. I love this page!! I love the picture, the moment in time, the paper cutting, the empty space, the journaling, the title... love it all!
Thank you to everyone who's stumbled upon my blog in 2009! All of the friendships I have made are what I am most grateful for this year. 2009 started off as a really bumpy year for me. It was one of those years that the minute it started I wished it was already over. Now that 2009 is behind me and the bad parts are fading away and healing, I look forward to starting a hopeful 2010 with great new friends and a wonderful scrappy support system.
Big hug to you all! I'll be back tomorrow with the next Sketchy Thursdays sketch for you. We have another great sponsor for you, and so far 2010 is looking FABULOUS for new sponsors!

With Christmas Eve arriving tomorrow, I wanted to make sure to send all of you warm holiday wishes!! Thanks again for reading my blog this year! And thank you to everyone who plays along with Sketchy Thursdays. Next year promises to be just as much fun.
From my family to yours, happy holidays!

I've already shown you the bright and vibrant colors that are in the January kit for Scrapbook Circle. How about now I share some of the more muted and vibrant, colors?! How about a peek at the Thickers that are in this wonderful kit?
Hope you enjoyed the peek! Very soon I'll be able to share all of the wonderful goodies that are in this January kit from Scrapbook Circle!!Happy holidays everyone, and thanks for stopping by!
As one of the newest DTs for Scrapbook Circle, I am so excited to say that the January kit is FABULOUS!!! OMG, I got my kit, waited patiently until I was prepared to work with it, and then BAM... the creativity just flowed! I made 3 projects in one night and loved the outcome of each and every one of them.
Over the next week or two, I'll be giving you little peeks into the kit, hoping that it will entice you enough to beg your loved ones to add this to your holiday gift list.
Here's a practice dialogue for you: "...Pretty please (loved one's name inserted here), just one more gift for my wish list! I NEED the Scrapbook Circle January kit! I can't create without it! And while you are on their Web site, I NEED a subscription to the kit club. I KNOW that February's kit will be just as great. I will NEED it to be a productive, creative individual in the 2010 calendar year!"
OK, that's a bit much... but you get the point... Scrapbook Circle wants you to play along with us!! So, do you like what you see so far? LMK in the comments if I have peaked your curiousity with my peeks.
Good morning everyone, and happy almost Christmas! It's finally here! The Scrap That! member blog hop starts today! Here's the next Sketchy Thursdays challenge. With the holidays knocking down our doors, this one was aimed at being quick, easy and fun! I love white space layouts, maybe that's why I sketch out so many!!

The page I made to go with this week's challenge is about my son's excitement to get his big boy bed. For weeks, nearly months, Nate complained that he had outgrown his crib-conversion bed. Which he had, and it was time. So, with Grandma and Papa in tow, off to the furniture store we went.

Nate's expression and excitement when the bed was delivered was priceless! He jumped and yelled and ran around like a fool. So glad I thought to have the camera ready for the reveal of his new bed.
Hope you'll find a minute to play along with us this week. One lucky player is walking away with the December kit from Scrapbook Kit Club. Link up your page over at Sketchy Thursdays in the Mr. Linky in the left sidebar. And thanks for looking at my blog today!!
Supplies: DCWV (cardstock), Maya Mist (blue), Bella Blvd. (letter stickers), Sassafras Lass (buttons), twine, thread
There was nothing like Nate's first Christmas. And I know that it meant way more to me than it did to him at the time. That's why this page is for the All About Me Challenge #7: Processing the Holidays.
For me, that first Christmas meant we had to have professional pictures taken for Christmas cards (hence the photo I chose to scrap). I had to have all new stockings that matched for the whole family. I had to have all of the special items in place ... under the impression of it all being for him. And it was. It was for him... but at the time, it definitely meant more to me.
What does a 6 month old know about baking 12 kinds of cookies? But I did it anyway! With him in the kitchen with me, all the while talking to him like he was frosting them instead of me. The silly things moms do!!
This page is also for the December sketch at Scrapfreak. It's a good one, so if you're a freak like me (smile), then head on over there and get your page done this month.
Thanks for looking! I really do appreciate those of you that read my blog!!
