Picture this {fancy pants}

Today I am sharing a Picture This! layout for Fancy Pants. The idea behind Picture This! is to use four or more photos on your page — not always an easy task for many of us.

Sometimes it is overwhelming to start a layout with so many photos, but I found that if you make them all the same size and design around them, that they can still be as powerful as one large image. Plus, if you design on a slant, you can fit more on a page (at least it feels like you can).

I had a wonderful girls’ weekend getaway in early March. My best scrappy friends (Sara, Heather & Audrey) and I got together for great food, drinks, scrapbooking and chit chat for two full days and nights. We took quite a few Instagram pics and I love that I've documented our fun weekend together.

These girls are incredibly talented, so if you are looking for new scrappers to follow online, click on their names above and check out their blogs. I can't recommend them enough!

There are so many tags, stickers and die cuts in the As You Wish collection that it was easy to add fun layers to the page.

I love how this turned out and am already thinking I need to do this more often.

So, have I inspired you to put more photos on your page?

Summertime Memories - Part 2 {adornit}

My Designer Spotlight with AdornIt has come to an end this week. I'm so happy with the four projects I made using the Summertime Memories collection. With winter hanging around as long as it did, it was a relief to work with such bright and summery images.

Using their chalkboard banner kit, I made this fun summer banner for the front entrance of my home.

The bike is one of my favorite embellishments in this collection, so I made sure to put it front and center on my banner.

With the fun pieces I had left over from making the layout, card and banner, I made this 2x3 tag mini album. Just a little something fun to hang onto that shares some photos from last summer.

This is the front of all of the tags…

… and this is the back of all of the tags.

Thanks for stopping here today to see my projects for AdornIt!

You could win the AdornIt Summertime Memories collection by leaving comments on the AdornIt blog posts that share my work. Scoot on over to the blog now and leave some comments — the winner could be you!

Pinterest inspiration {bella blvd}

Bella Blvd has Pinterest inspiration for you today on the blog. Isn't this image perfect?! I love how fresh it is, but with the pop of chalkboard to make the flowers really stand out.

The image inspired me with color and spacing if the image. I love the pink and black combo with white, so that was what I focused on. I also liked how there was ample empty space at the top of the
image. For this card, I applied the empty space from the image, the flowers and the colors.

Supplies: Engaged at Last (Alpha + Bits Bachelor/ette) Love and Marriage (Alpha + Bits), Molly (Paper Pieces), Button Market (Text)

For my second card, I wanted to make sure I pulled in the green color from the image. I used more of a central focus, but I still made the pink, white and black the main colors.

Supplies: Love and Marriage (Alpha + Bits), Snapshots (Paper Pieces), Molly (Paper Pieces, Candid Cards)

Scoot on over to the Bella Blvd blog to see what some of the other ladies made with the Pinterest image for inspiration.

Summertime Memories {adornit}

I am thrilled to be this week's Guest Designer over on the AdornIt blog. Each day this week, they are sharing my work with the Summertime Memories collection.

On Monday, they posted this fun summer layout of my boy. I love the watermelons and fun bright colors in this collection.

On Tuesday they shared my summer banner card. Again — loving the watermelons! I fussy-cut that banner and adhered it to the card with some enamel dots from my stash.

If you leave a comment on any of my posts this week at the AdornIt blog, you will be entered to win the entire Summertime Memories collection from AdornIt.

Thanks for stopping to see the beginning of my guest posts for AdornIt. Don't forget to leave comments on their site so you have a chance to win these fabulous watermelons for yourself!

Challenge #5 | Color Combo {avery elle}

Hello, and thank you for stopping by here today to see the 5th challenge for the Avery Elle challenge blog. This week we have a color combo challenge for you. I love the soft green and blue tones for this time of year — it's time to welcome spring!

I love the Knotty stamp set and just had to use it to kick off such a springy color combo. Water tones are always great for nautical images, as well as the traditional blue and red.

We would love to have you play along with us!

Avery Elle stamps or their free digital stamps must be used in each entry. You may enter as many times as you wish, but they must be posted to the InLinkz tool separately. Please enter a new, not previously posted project that fits the challenge theme.  Your project must fit the theme to be eligible to win. The winner will not be chosen randomly.  We will be looking for entries that include great use of color, design & creativity. You have until 12:01 AM (PT) on Sunday, April 27th to enter.  The winner will be announced on Thursday, May 1st at 6:00 AM (Pacific Time) on the Avery Elle Challenge Blog.

Easter week {bella blvd}

Welcome to a week of Easter inspiration from Bella Blvd! Make sure to check out the Bella Blvd blog all week long as we all take turns sharing Easter goodness to inspire you.

Shaped cards are always a treat to give and receive. Especially in the spring time! Bunnies, chicks, eggs — they are all adorable ways to send a greeting. I made this card with a Silhouette shape that I doubled, flipped and welded together to make a card.

Supplies: Lucky Starz (Pattern paper: Color Crazy; Color Wheel High Five), Crochet Hearts (White), Spring Fling (Miniatures)

For Easter, put your treats into a shaped box instead of individual eggs. Exchange a colorful pail instead of a basket for a fun variation on the expected eggs and basket.

They'll be sure to brighten up the basket this year! I made these treat boxes using a carrot-shaped Silhouette gift box file, but then adding a hole at the top to fit the feathers as carrot toppers.

Supplies: Lucky Starz (Pattern paper: Carrot), Play Date (Pattern paper: Little Birdie), Spring Fling (Miniatures), Feathers (Juice), Designer Tape (Yellow Chevron)

I hope you are all looking at your stash of feathers a little bit differently now — instant carrot toppers!

Thanks for stopping by today to see my Easter inspiration with Bella Blvd.

April sketch challenge {scrapbook circle}

Scrapbook Circle has been hoppin' all month long with a fabulous April kit. Today I have a new sketch challenge for all of you to play along with. Check out the blog to get the details for playing along, or scroll down below to see the sketch.

I had so much fun making this layout. Not only do I love the girlie in the pictures with me (hi Sara!), but I also love to make new cut files with my Silhouette. Do you love the circles on this? Here is a FREE studio file download of the cut file I made. Feel free to download the file and use it as you wish on your next layout.

I love all of the colors and patterns in this kit. The circles was a great way to use some of my favorites and make them the focal point against the kraft paper.

This is the sketch. Make sure to see the Scrapbook Circle blog if you want to play along. We have a few rules and deadlines to make note of in order to be eligible to win this month's prize from Fancy Pants.

Thanks for stopping by here today! Have a great weekend.
