Home décor for mom {fancy pants}

Hello! Mother's Day is this Sunday, and the team at Fancy Pants is celebrating moms all week. For this week's home decor post on the Fancy Pants blog, I shared this mom print I made, the decorated frame and a little altered jar filled with vintage threads.

I made this “God made mothers…” print and you can download the PNG file HERE. The pink colors match the As You Wish collection very well. If you didn’t want to frame it, it could be resized and print as a card for your pocket page layouts.

I framed the print in a rustic wood frame and added chipboard, tag and die cut pieces from As You Wish to decorate the outside edges of the frame.

I also had a jar of pink and orange vintage threads that I’ve been meaning to do a little bit more with. I hot-glued twine around the center of the jar and then decorated it with a heart I fussy cut from one of the brag cards. I then finished it off with faux white stitched lines and a chipboard button.

If you were interested in using the Mother’s Day print as a cut on your Silhouette, you can also download the studio file.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mommies out there!

April sketch challenge {scrapbook circle}

Scrapbook Circle has been hoppin' all month long with a fabulous April kit. Today I have a new sketch challenge for all of you to play along with. Check out the blog to get the details for playing along, or scroll down below to see the sketch.

I had so much fun making this layout. Not only do I love the girlie in the pictures with me (hi Sara!), but I also love to make new cut files with my Silhouette. Do you love the circles on this? Here is a FREE studio file download of the cut file I made. Feel free to download the file and use it as you wish on your next layout.

I love all of the colors and patterns in this kit. The circles was a great way to use some of my favorites and make them the focal point against the kraft paper.

This is the sketch. Make sure to see the Scrapbook Circle blog if you want to play along. We have a few rules and deadlines to make note of in order to be eligible to win this month's prize from Fancy Pants.

Thanks for stopping by here today! Have a great weekend.

Today was awesome {scrapbook circle}

The Portabello Road March kit from Scrapbook Circle is a new favorite of mine. It might be this never-ending winter we are having or the lack of sunshine dragging me down, but I was more excited than usual to see the bright colors in this kit.

It felt like an 80 degree day hit me when I opened the box. And trust me, I needed it!

I went straight for the Basic Grey Capture papers that are in the kit and started to play around with making the bright bold patterns play together on a page.

For the triangle pattern, I made it in the Silhouette software and cut it from a sheet of cream / off-white card stock. I then backed each space separately with snippets of the pattern papers.

A series of silly selfies with my boy help round out the fun on this layout. We were at Red Robin with friends after seeing The LEGO Movie for the second time and we were feeling silly. Or should I say… "awesome!"

Thanks for hanging out here today. Make sure to grab the free studio file download for your Silhouette.

And if you are interested in purchasing Portabello Road or one of the amazing add ons, make sure to use code DIANAF20OFF for 20% off your purchase.

Sept. sketch challenge {imaginisce}

It's about that time for another monthly sketch challenge at Imaginisce. This one should be fun and get you thinking. You can see the sketch at the end of this post or head on over to the Imaginisce blog and see the sketch as well as what the rest of the DT made.

I used the Outdoor Adventure collection for my layout. The green and orange worked really well with the pictures I was using from our hiking trip.

I also have a bonus FREE DOWNLOAD for you. When I made the background for this sketch, I separated it out and prepared it as a studio file for your Silhouette software. If you'd like it, you can DOWNLOAD IT HERE

Thanks visiting my blog today! Happy Labor Day to all of you celebrating in the U.S. It's the end of summer — enjoy those last few moments.

Sketch challenge {imaginisce}

Hello! I can't believe it's already August 1st! This summer is just flying by. With the first of the month comes a new sketch I cooked up for you at Imaginisce. You can see the sketch below or head on over to the Imaginisce blog, see what the rest of the DT made, and play along with us!

I used the Good Dog collection for this layout. My Cady girl was sunning herself on 4th of July and I snapped a few pictures of her as the rest of the family played in the pool. I love how these turned out. Her coloring is just gorgeous in person, and these photos are the closest I've been able to get to the real thing.

This is the sketch. You know... I bet you could even make this into a Project Life page to play along. It works for cards, layouts and maybe even PL.

I like to share my studio files when I can and if they make sense, so here is a link to the FREE download for the "Best Dog Ever" 3x4 card I made. It will also fit in a Project Life sleeve. If you have a pampered pooch in your home, scoop it up — it may come in handy some day!

Thanks for stopping to see my layout today. Hope you can find a moment to use the sketch and play along at Imaginisce!
