Wedding card with a trendy twist

I've been making more cards to share with you. This card plays along with these challenges:

• CropStop challenge: Use lace (I love this lace ribbon. I am starting to run out and need to find some more.)
• Moxie Fab Fanatical About Botanical Challenge (This paper from Sassafras Lass is perfect for this trend. Using it for the wedding dress made it moxie fab, and I love pairing florals with a muted dot pattern. The flowers stand out more with the contrast.)

Exciting new items and a card

Very excited to be making some new crafty things again. This is a card I made for:

• The Card Patterns sketch challenge #125. I've had the idea for this card for awhile but never managed to get around to it until I was inspired by this week's sketch.
• Card Makin Mamas Food & Drink, Challenge #25.


Love that background paper? I'll give you a hint that it is in the August kit for Scrapbook Circle. Tomorrow I'll have a page to share that I made with the kit. And I'm pretty sure you're gonna love the rest of what's in the kit.

I am so excited about these new barrettes. They are a larger, more layered version of my Ruffled Blooms offered for scrapbooking. The clip is already attached and these flowers are ready for your hair, purse, necklace ... you name it! Such a fun, flirty accent. And the button center is a vintage pearl button—a fabulous extra touch.

Ponytail holder - Teal flower

I did it! I made one of the new flowers on my list from Pinterest. Well, new to me. The five-point flower made from circles. Check it out here. I couldn't help but make this one a ponytail holder.

Doilie Bloom - Hot Air Balloons

A new twist on my previous Doilie Blooms. Shaped felt and stick pins add more layers and fun to these fabulous scrapbooking accessories.

I Want it All - Crush

A new listing for the I Want it All kits, and I threw in some of the handmade fabric brads that I've been making.

Fabric Buttons - Baby Blues

Here is a new endeavor for me, too, with fabric covered buttons. There is another set in the shop as well that is plaid. Super soft cotton makes these a fabulous accent to a project in need of buttons.

Card Patterns GDT spot

Hello everyone! I was so excited to be chosen a few weeks ago at Card Patterns as their GDT for Sketch #122. Whenever I make a card, I start with the Card Patterns blog to see if I can use their current sketch for my inspiration, so I was really honored to be playing along with these gals for a week.


I made this card using the July kit for The Sampler. The July kit isn't live yet, but I hope I have peeked your interest for when it does. It's a lovely, girly kit this month.

I had a fabulous crafty weekend. I was able to sit down and create—playing along with as many challenges as I could manage. Or course, I wasn't able to do everything I wanted to do, but I am happy that I got done as much as I did.

Today is a great day. Today my son graduates from Pre-K. I am so excited to see what they've been up to for their ceremony. Nate's been talking about the DVD, the song, how they practice calling their names and going to the front... I am so excited!!!

I made this card for Nate to celebrate his graduation. We are having a dinner beforehand, and we have a little present for him, too. He loves the Olivia books, and has been begging for this little stuffed animal of Olivia dressed as a pirate, so we got that for him, too. Like I said ... SO EXCITED!


I needed some inspiration to get this card going, so I played along at a few places. Here they are:
• Some Odd Girl has a manly challenge (and a DT Call, if you are interested)
• The Paper Variety also wants to see projects for the guys
• I used a card sketch at Card Patterns

My tip for this card ... I used the bike stamp from Hero Arts, and to make it more "guy-friendly" I cut off the basket. SIMPLE! Such an easy way to make your stamps more versatile. Take a look at what you have in your stash already that can be altered instead of purchasing gender-specific materials.

Lovely congrats card

This lovely anniversary card is on its way to a friend's son and daughter-in-law. I just love making cards for people I know—taking extra special care with every detail.

To help inspire me, I played along with Card Patterns sketch #115 and The Shabby Tea Room's Monochromatic challenge. I have to admit that this card would not have happened like this without the little nudge from these bloggy challenges. I don't usually think in shaped cards nor one color, but I love the end result!

For a special little boy

My husband's cousin and his wife, who live in Fla., had their third boy about a week and a half ago. When I heard that they were decorating his room in a Curious George theme, I knew immediately that it was time to use this image of George that I had cut out of one of Nate's story book that he'd destroyed when he was an infant.

Giving an infant a paper book is rarely a good idea—hence, board books. I had saved this and stashed it away from a page that had be ripped out. I'm so excited to mail this doorknob hanger off to them!


The background paper is Lily Bee, letters are AC Thickers and the felt clouds are die cut from the Papertrey Ink cloud dies. The buttons are also Papertrey Ink.


And what's a baby gift without a card!? I made this with inspiration from Card Patterns sketch #110. Gotta love that site! Great jumping off point for me every week.


I used the same Lily Bee paper as the background and kept the jungle animal theme so that the gift will match a bit. Hope Mike, Mandy and new baby Hudson love this! :)

Ice cream, anyone?

I don't know about you, but I am so ready for an ice cream cone on a hot day. We're still in the 30s-40s here in Upstate NY, and I am not excited about all the rain that's in the forecast. So, to keep my spirits up, I continue to work with warm, sunny colors and fabulous images.

I made this card using the Card Patterns challenge #109. Definitely a sketch I can plan on using over and over again. It's fun and flirty, don't ya think?!


This cutie little Pure Innocence stamp arrived at my doorstep via ScrapbookingSuppliesRUs.com, as well as some new Copics. I was in need of some of the browns and dark greys for hair colors. I felt like all my recent images had the same hair color.

I also used part of my kit from The Sampler for the paper pierced dress and the papers in the cards. Elle's Tale from Sassafras Lass is in the kit and there is one piece of paper that I absolutely love. It's called Time Flies and it has the best pink polka dot paper on one side and a great blue color with feathers on the other side. Swoon!! I just love it. I need about 10 more sheets.

Some'bunny' is ready for spring

Here's a cheery little card to get you hoppin' with your spring or Easter cards. I know some of my friends are already having days near-90-degree days (cough...AZ...cough...), but up here in the northeast we are dodging wintery mix and 30-degree-afternoons. We need all the sunshine-y things we can get!

I made this card with a few different challenges in mind. The first is the Card Makin Mamas: Animals challenge. Who can resist a cute lil bunny?! Speaking of ... this bunny is from DigiStamp Boutique.

Second, I used Card Patterns: Sketch 107. (Which is a great sketch that I plan on using over and over again.)


And I also used this color challenge at colourQ. I have to admit that this color combo took me a bit longer to put together, but I realized that a lot of the colors in my Scrapbook Circle March kit worked out for this, so all of the papers on this card are from that kit. The papers are from Echo Park and Crate.


Hopefully I've inspired you to play along with some of these challenges. Hope you all are having a great week so far!

Yellow vibes for sunshine

I love yellow. The color is inspiring and hopeful, and I think most people can't help but smile when they see it. It's such a happy color.

This yellow paper is from American Crafts and can be found in the March Sampler kit from Scrapbooking Supplies R Us. I just got mine in the mail, and I tore into it within hours. Everything on this card except for the doilie, twine and pin are in The Sampler's March kit.


I was inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World when I made this card.


I used the white and yellow, but I was also inspired by the doors. They reminded me of Sketch 104 at the Card Patterns blog this week, too. It seemed to all fit so well together.

A "playing along" post

Pardon my double post for the day.... I have some challenges to play along with!


This cutie little card uses Sketch 98 from Card Patterns and is also for the Color Pride challenge at Some Odd Girl for their anniversary week.


Below is the 1 Digi 3 Different Ways challenge for the Some Odd Girl anniversary week. I really wish I had a little girl's birthday party to throw because this set is so stinkin' cute! Any little girls need a birthday party set? I have one here for ya! :)

The image is this month's freebie, Star Bright Tia.




And the most recent challenge at Some Odd Girl is to get your kids involved. Nate is a huge Tobie fan. He refers to him like everyone knows who he is. It's funny to hear him talk like Tobie is Elmo. (One day, Kristy... one day, right?! A SOG coloring book is surely around the corner, right?!)

Nate made a bookmark for the Kids Challenge.


I absolutely love how Nate adds shadows to the edges of his images. He even calls them shadows.

I'm playing along with Card Patterns: Sketch 97 for the first time. I've recently been hopping all over Blogland looking for new card sketches and card challenge sites. And I'm glad I found this one. It looks like a nice place to play. :)

This pretty card is going to my friend Renee who is sending it off to a friend of hers.


Wanna know a secret about this card?! I bought this little My Favorite Things stamp for the intent of putting balloons in her hand, and know what?! I do not have a balloon on any of the Cricut Carts I have nor do I have a stamp or a punch?

How on Earth has that happened? So, I improvised and used American Crafts felt eggs from a old spring set and put 'em upside down! Víola! Instant balloons!! But you do know that I am now on the hunt for a balloon punch, of course!
