You + Me {card}

Hello! There is a card sketch challenge going on at Scrapbook Circle this month. You have until Jan. 18th to play along with us. One lucky winner will get a $15 credit to the Scrapbook Circle store.

I used the Scrapbook Circle Jan. kit, You + Me, to make my card. Everything in the kit is just so pretty! And perfect for Valentine's Day cards.

I also played along with the Card Makin' Mamas challenge. For the New Year, they want to see New Year's cards or cards using something NEW to you. I used my new Fiskars punch, called Starlets. I have always wanted one of those punches that has the different options for corners. I snagged one of the new ones this weekend, and you can see how I punched out the corners of the layers.

Thanks for stopping to see my card today. I hope you have time to play along with either of these card challenges.

A week of Christmas cards

Hello there! This week I am sharing with you a few of the holiday cards I made this season. I hope you like my last-minute week of inspiration.

• You can also link your holiday cards for the rest of this week to the Jingle Belles blog.
• At The Paper Variety, anything goes—so if you made anything, link it over there.
(I also swore I saw a challenge for linking up a project with an ornament and now I can't find it. I had been inspired by that prompt, too.)

And thank you so much to everyone for the warm wishes for making the Imaginisce DT for 2012. I am so blessed to be given this opportunity to design for them and use their amazing products.

Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate it. Have a great week!

A card making weekend

Hello! I have been very lucky lately to have so many orders for cards come in. Last week, I made two cards I never even took pictures of and shipped them off. This weekend I had 3 more ordered, but luckily had a chance to take more time with them, so here are pictures.

First is a birthday card for a guy I've known for since he was in high school. I work with his mom and for the past few years I've made his birthday card. I can't believe he's gonna be 26!

Card Makin Mamas is also having a challenge for birthday cards, so stop over there and share if you are making any.

This one is a Home Sweet Home card I was asked to make. I just love making cards with little scenes on them. They are the most difficult to make sometimes, but I always love how cute they can be in the end.

And a wedding card that was ordered. I was having fun with the red and white combo, and who can pass up that lacy little dress for the bride.

Thanks for stopping in to see my crafty card weekend. I was also working on new items for my Etsy shop. Which, by the way, I did hit my 100 sales goal last week. I'm working on getting the blog giveaway together for this Friday. (AND... coupon code GETTO100 is still working for 15% off your total order while we are celebrating.)

I'm excited to share with you the new items and re-listing of popular items this week. Hopefully tomorrow. See you then!

Butterflies are forever

Here's a fabulous little card I made. It goes with the following challenges:

• Card Makin Mamas: Summertime challenge (Nothing says summer quite like butterflies.)
• Cardabilities: Sketch #35 (I flipped the sketch a bit to the other side of the card.)

Thanks for stopping to see my card today! It's been so hot here that I can barely stand to be in my scrap room (which is not air conditioned) for very long—just long enough to make a card. Get in. Get creative. Get out. :)

Have nice a day!!

I'm also doing a giveaway soon! I am 7 sales away from hitting 100 sales in my Etsy shop. Use coupon code GETTO100 for a 15% discount now! And once I hit 100, I'll do a giveaway here on the blog. Thanks to all of you who support my crafty Etsy shop, I really appreciate it!! :)

Butterfly card

I was in need of some inspiration, so off I went to find some challenges to play along with. I made this card using a sketch, a color challenge and a prompt. Sometimes you can box yourself in with so many restrictions, but I rather like the challenge when I'm feeling blah about my work. It sparks my creativity.

• The sketch I used is from Clean & Simple. It is Sketch #138.

• The prompt is from Card Makin' Mamas. They want you to make a card for a loved one. I can't tell you who this is for just in case they see this (I want them to still be surprised), but trust me—they are loved!

• And the color challenge is from CR84FN26. The color challenges are always the tough ones for me. I rarely do color challenges because I struggle with them, but I really liked the yellow in this one. It cheered me up. :)

Thanks for stopping by today to see my card. I hope at least one of these challenges motivates you to create something today. Play along!

Carefree puddle stompin'

Hi everyone! Here's another card for you this week. I used Stompin Tobie from Some Odd Girl. Love these digi stamps. Lots of great characters to choose from. Check them out if you haven't yet.

Some Odd Girl has a challenge now to use a pleat. I also played along with the Card Makin' Mamas challenge to embellish a card. Other than the digi and the pleat, I also used twine, chipboard and stickers. Lots going on here!

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Some'bunny' is ready for spring

Here's a cheery little card to get you hoppin' with your spring or Easter cards. I know some of my friends are already having days near-90-degree days (cough...AZ...cough...), but up here in the northeast we are dodging wintery mix and 30-degree-afternoons. We need all the sunshine-y things we can get!

I made this card with a few different challenges in mind. The first is the Card Makin Mamas: Animals challenge. Who can resist a cute lil bunny?! Speaking of ... this bunny is from DigiStamp Boutique.

Second, I used Card Patterns: Sketch 107. (Which is a great sketch that I plan on using over and over again.)

And I also used this color challenge at colourQ. I have to admit that this color combo took me a bit longer to put together, but I realized that a lot of the colors in my Scrapbook Circle March kit worked out for this, so all of the papers on this card are from that kit. The papers are from Echo Park and Crate.

Hopefully I've inspired you to play along with some of these challenges. Hope you all are having a great week so far!

Twine in the limelight...

Last week I stumbled upon a new-to-me site Limelight Papercrafts. Always on the look-out for new card sketches, I happily joined in. There was a sketch to use as well as the prompt: String.

After just getting my latest The Twinery happy mail, I was eager to jump into this prompt using my new colors.

This card is also for the Card Makin' Mamas challenge to make a birthday card.

While we are on the topic of baker's twine ... I thought I'd also share this cute little home decor project I made this weekend. I used little wooden spools from the wooden crafts aisle at the craft & hobby store, along with some cool empty jars I had on hand.

I have wooden spools, cool jars and jars with notions like this all over my house tucked onto various shelves. I just think it's the best way to add a splash of color. I used a Papertrey Ink die and stamps to make the little tag.

Thanks for stopping by today to celebrate baker's twine with me! :) I hope your week is going well!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, lovelies!! Here is a virtual cookie for you all to enjoy. There's nothing better than a tasty, frosted sugar cookie.

Here's a Valentine's Day card I made. I had two challenges in mind when I made it.

First, is Card Makin Mamas. They wanted to see some Valentine's Day cards. So I broke down and finally made one.

Second, is for my new role over at Paper Issues. I was turned on to this site from my friend, Kristy. The girls over there are fabulous!! And the best part is that if you used paper and you've ever made a project/card/layout and it fits the criteria, you can link it up to play along.

Paper Issues Blog Design

The current challenge is The Birds & The Bees (and Butterflies). I know you've all used these in some way at some time, right?! Link it up—play along!!!

I hope you have a great Valentine's Day. Hubby is working, but we'll be celebrating later this week. We're also celebrating the 10th anniversary of our first night out together, so that event has overshadowed the Hallmark holiday. But I will be getting a small V-Day gift for Nate today. He's been so excited that Mommy is going to get him a surprise valentine.

Thanks for stopping by today!!
