Pinterest inspired {bella blvd}

Today on Bella Blvd's blog, some of creative team was inspired by this photo found on Pinterest. I made a little gift bag and card set.

For the card, I used the colors in the Pinterest photo and the pumpkins are inspired by the acorns.

Supplies: Hello Autumn (Pattern paper: Falling into Fall, Borders Hello Autumn), Chipboard Icons, Trinkets.

For the gift bag, I was drawn to the colors and the pattern of the clustered acorns. I chose that great floral pattern for the outside of my little gift bag. What a cute little idea for sharing a gift card and maybe some candy corns with the hostess of a fall dinner you attend.

Pinterest Inspiration {bella blvd}

Today on the Bella Blvd blog some of the team is sharing with you inspiration we took from this image found on Pinterest. Here are the two cards I made.

Using the Pinterest inspiration for this card, I was drawn to the muted monotone colors. I chose gray and white, which is very similar in tone to the image. I also wanted to use a lot of words on this, as inspired by the letters. For that, I included the phrase next to the main image.

Supplies: Halloween Magic (Pattern paper: Daily Details Halloween Magic), Paper Pieces and Die Cuts, Chipboard Icons, Treasures & Text

For this card, I pulled the stacked lettering as my inspiration from the image. I arranged the HALLOWEEN chipboard letters to mimic the layout in the image. Though this card is much brighter than the image, it is more literal in the arrangement and the center focal point.

Pinterest Inspired {bella blvd}

Today on the Bella Blvd blog, we are sharing projects that have been inspired by the above Pinterest-shared image. I made two cards with the Hello Autumn collection.

I was used the orange and blue for the main colors on this card, and the woodgrain in the background paper mimics the woodgrain on the home in the Pinterest image.

Supplies: Hello Autumn (Pattern paper: Borders Hello Autumn, Daily Details Hello Autumn, Day Dream), Paper Pieces Die Cuts

For this card I was inspired by the orange and blue and even literally the way the image had stripes of color at the bottom of the image. The owl is too cute and I placed him in about the same place as where the door is in the image.

Supplies: Hello Autumn (Pattern paper: Perfect Pick, Day Dream Daily Details Hello Autumn, Borders Hello Autumn)

Thanks for stopping to see my cards today. You can scoot on over to the Bella Blvd blog to see how some of the other ladies on the team interpreted the image for their projects.

Pinterest inspired {bella blvd}

Bella Blvd is going green today! We are sharing projects inspired by this Pinterest image. To see what the other gals made, swing by the Bella Blvd blog today.

I was inspired by the image to use green, little banners and a "lucky" theme. This card isn't a St. Patty's Day card (though it could be), but rather a good luck card. I used vellum to put the word "good" to the back, allowing the word "luck" to be the shining star on the top layer.

SUPPLIES
Max: (Pattern paper: Text Me) Lucky Starz: (Pattern paper: Bell Pepper Starz), Treasures & Text, Color Wheel High Five. Family Forever: (Pattern paper: Sunday Brunch)

For my second project, I made a gift box instead of another card.

Using the Pinterest image for inspiration, I was used the green color, the clovers and liked the idea of a party with the banners in the picture. Because of the party, I made a little favor box that just happens to be filled with green mints.

Clovers and a Bella Blvd flower are clustered on the top for layering and a bit of fun for our little party box.

Pinterest [tasty}

Hi there! As I said yesterday, my creativity is being channeled into July projects — so for now, I'll catch up on all that Pinterest love that seems to have gone by the wayside lately.

Cheese Danish {Source

I made this last weekend and I was the only one that liked it. I am pretty sure that when I make it next time I will use less of the filling and also add in almond slivers. It needed a little bit of something else to entice the boys to join me in this one.

Pulled Pork and Cole Slaw {Source}

I have not made this particular recipe, but thanks to eating at Quaker Steak & Lube, I am now a fan of putting cole slaw on pulled pork sandwiches. I pinned this to make, but ended up creating my own recipe. Regardless of how you do it, you need to try cole slaw on your next pulled pork sandwich.

Pinterest {recipes}

It's been awhile since I've shared any recipes here from my Pinterest boards, but I've had some great success lately with trying new things.

Here are some must-pin recipes!

I made both of these within the last week. Actually, I made the salad twice this week! Both are hearty, full of flavor and great for the whole family. Nate actually loved them both, and he's been quite the picky eater lately.

Here's a preview of the menu that I'm planning for Easter breakfast, too. Excited to try these!

Have a great Friday! Thanks for sneaking a peek at my blog today.

Happy Holidays!

Inspired by Pinterest this year, here is my pretty package for the season. It was for the ornament exchange at my work this week. It's a blind exchange in that you aren't supposed to know who the ornament is from, and then each ornament can be stolen two more times from the original owner.

I think I pretty much failed at the "not knowing who the ornament was from" part. LOL! Oh well…I just can't pass up a chance to make something pretty for the sake of just being pretty.

Happy Holidays everyone! Enjoy the festivities this weekend if you are celebrating. I am so, so excited that for the first time in many, many years, my husband has both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off. (As well as New Year's Eve!) So, my holiday wish has already come true!

Wishing you and yours all the best!

Holiday crafting {on pinterest}

I am making quite a crazy large board for holiday goodness at Pinterest. I began to think about what I will actually be able to make, use, give, etc. Here are some of my favorites that I really want to find time for.

Before I get to into the Christmas decor, I want to get some jars like this for the table in the kitchen. I think they match my style well and will add a nice look to that space.

HAVE to make these with Nate. I know he'll love them! They even seemed fairly easy using pieces of toilet paper rolls for the bodies.

These are adorable! And I have so many wooden spools hanging around from my crafty scrounging at the craft/antique shops.

I'm gonna do it! I'm going to make some of my own bows this year. Yep ... let's see how it goes. :)

Hopefully I've inspired you with some holiday goodness. Or possibly (and more likely) sent you into a full panic about how little time we have left to create for the holidays. Follow my Pinterest boards for more inspiration, and I'd love to follow you, too!

Crafting {on Pinterest}

If you're on Pinterest (and if you are anything like me), you have been pinning the crafty hints, tips, tricks and downloads. But, are you doing anything with them?

I couldn't pass up this free subway art download from Beth's blog. I had to spruce it up and make the final project my own, though.

I made these felt circles with hand-beaded centers and adhered a couple to the edge of the frame. And what's an autumn picture without a spider, 'eh?!

If you like these embellishments, there are some available for sale at my Etsy shop.

***Pssssttt: Today is my birthday, so I'm feeling a bit like celebrating. If you buy anything from my Etsy shop before the end of the week on 10/14, you can get 15% off your total purchase. And I'll throw in an extra surprise for you. Use coupon code BDAY2011***

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope you are inspired to do something with those pins!!

Comfort food {on Pinterest}

I'm back! With more of my Pinterest recipe favorites. This time I'm focusing on the comfort foods. I don't know about where you are, but we had a chill here the past few days. It was time to bust out the comfort food!

The best one of the week for sure! It was perfect for the rainy, dreary Sunday that we just had last weekend.

This soup was great. Spicy, but not too spicy for the kid-o. And perfect with chips—I can see this being a dip if you let it thicken up a bit.

This noodle and rice dish was delish! And the best was that each time we reheated it, it got thicker and more casserole-like. It's officially a must-make dish at the Fisher house now.

Thanks for stopping by to see the comfort food post for today. Mmmmm .... OK, now I'm hungry! Enjoy!

Pretty tasty {on Pinterest}

Here's another Wednesday Pinterest food love post for you. I hope you all are finding some delish recipes here you may not have found otherwise.

If you eat pork, you HAVE to make this. HAVE TO! And you will want to make the glaze on this for other meats as well. I'm about ready to stock pile it in my freezer for any ole regular day I make chicken, just so I have it. It is that good! And the rub on the pork while it cooks in the crock pot is so flavorful. This is my favorite recipe find so far. It is best paired with THESE POTATOES.

Amazing! I got up early on Sunday to make this one. Fresh blueberries and buttermilk make this so moist and sweet. It tasted like a giant 8x8 blueberry muffin.

Delish! The bacon and chives are added right before you eat it, so the stock, potatoes and veggies are all that cooked throughout the day. I was able to serve it for dinner, freeze a bunch and still have leftovers for the next day, too. This recipe feeds a lot!

This was so easy to make and the pepper jack cheese adds just the right amount of flavor. I already have a recipe for a more complicated version of mac and cheese that I love, but this made having homemade mac n cheese on a weeknight so much easier.

Now that I've been on these Pinterest recipe kicks, my husband never knows what my answer will be when he asks what's for dinner. But ever since last Tuesday, he has asked when we are having that pork roast again. :)

Hope you found something tasty to try! And thanks for reading my blog today.

Pretty tasty {on Pinterest}

Time for more recipe find on Pinterest. So far so good. I have managed to add at least 2 new recipes to each week's grocery list, and it has made for quite a fun few weeks trying new things.

By fall I hope to add in the desserts. Right now ice cream rules the dessert choices in my house.

Lemon garlic spaghetti with pine nuts
This dish is a great choice on a hot day. You cook the noodles, but the actual sauce requires minimal time spent at the stove. And the lemon you squeeze over the top is very refreshing for a pasta dinner. I loved it and will make it again for sure, and I might add zucchini next time, too.

AMAZING!! I loved these. So did the husband and the boy, which is the true test, right?! My recommend to you if you try these isn't any change to the recipe, but to cook the chicken in advance. If you cook extra chicken for another recipe the day before and set it aside for these, the whole process goes much faster. As leftovers they are perfect, too. In the microwave for 15-20 seconds and they make an amazing lunch the next day.

This was DELISH!! I had been searching for the perfect enchiladas recipe for years, and the sauce for this one is perfection. Next time I make it I'll be adding chopped tomatoes right before serving it, other than that, nothing needed to be changed. And Nate loved it, which is good for using a whole can of diced green chiles.

Hawaiian BBQ chicken
This dish was so, so easy to make. The only draw back is the short cooking time in the crock pot makes it difficult to be a dish I'd make before work as it would have cooked way too long while I was gone. And it seemed to need something more than just pineapple, like another "thing" with the pineapple and chicken on the rice. Ideas on that one?

Thanks for stopping by today. I know the recipes take a detour from the usual crafty blogging, but I hope you are enjoying the new ideas if you are the cooking type.

I can make that...

Have you heard of Uglydolls? This past Sunday, Nate and I were in a local bookstore in the village that sells these toys. We had gone to the village just so Nate could ride his bike on the canal path and then have ice cream at the shop next door to the bookstore. I didn't bring enough money to buy one of these dolls even if he had begged me to.

Instead I said, "Nate, I can go home and make one of those. We don't need to buy one." Famous last words. Of course, we had to go straight home, and I had to prove to him that I could make one.

Luckily, I remembered that I had downloaded a pattern not too long ago on Pinterest. Here is that link if you'd like to get the pattern, too.

Nate loves it. He named it Monster, Inc. LOL. Then he made me put Monster, Inc. on TV so he could show his new little Monster where he came from. HAHA!

So, famous last words ... don't say, "I can make that," to a 5 year old unless you can—cuz he'll make sure you do!

Thanks for stopping by today to see my endeavor into sewing felt monsters.
