I can make that...

Have you heard of Uglydolls? This past Sunday, Nate and I were in a local bookstore in the village that sells these toys. We had gone to the village just so Nate could ride his bike on the canal path and then have ice cream at the shop next door to the bookstore. I didn't bring enough money to buy one of these dolls even if he had begged me to.

Instead I said, "Nate, I can go home and make one of those. We don't need to buy one." Famous last words. Of course, we had to go straight home, and I had to prove to him that I could make one.

Luckily, I remembered that I had downloaded a pattern not too long ago on Pinterest. Here is that link if you'd like to get the pattern, too.

Nate loves it. He named it Monster, Inc. LOL. Then he made me put Monster, Inc. on TV so he could show his new little Monster where he came from. HAHA!

So, famous last words ... don't say, "I can make that," to a 5 year old unless you can—cuz he'll make sure you do!

Thanks for stopping by today to see my endeavor into sewing felt monsters.

mother's day gift bucket

For the mom who has everything and appreciates the sentiment!

This cute little metal bucket is decorated with white rub-ons from Making Memories and American Crafts. Yummy chocolates fill the bottom and make a great base to hold the felt and button flowers. (The tutorial on how to make these cutie, forever flowers can be found here.)

To make your own version of this, look at your stash and see what household items you have lying around that would make a great vase, bucket, glass, etc. It's a quick, fun gift for mom.
