Robot card {scrapbook circle}

The March 2014 kit for Scrapbook Circle is easily one of my favorite kits! As many of you know, I scrapbook for a 7-year-old boy and this kit is perfect for that age.

There have even been references among us teammates that it is perfect for the current LEGO Movie excitement going on right now.

Without giving away too much of what you can expect with this kit (on sale soon!), here is a card I made using some of the Crate Paper goodies in the kit.

Loving the robot! And inside the card (which I forgot to take a picture of, d'oh!) is the exclusive stamp for the month: "Today is a Happy Day." What a great sentiment to have on hand!

Are you putting this kit on your wish list? It is sure to go quickly. If you do purchase from Scrapbook Circle, make sure to use my coupon code, DIANAF20OFF, for 20% off your order.

Grateful & a winner! {whimsical twist}

Today at Whimsical Twist some of the design team is sharing what they are grateful and/or thankful for. I am immensely grateful for my relationships with these ladies. Each one of them in important to me, and I was so lucky to get to spend a weekend in October with them.

If you aren't sure who these ladies are, here they are from left to right: Renee (a very dear friend of mine who makes me laugh and wipes my tears. I'd be lost without her), me, Sara Z. (bestie, soul sister, scrapbooking Skyper and fellow coffee junkie. She is my "twin" living way too far away), Heather L. (an amazing scrapbooking artist who makes me belly laugh — I love that!), and Audrey Y. (the perfect mix of Upstate NY humor and Texan hospitality. I am blessed to call her a friend)

This is probably the first time these girls have heard/read how I feel about them…so let's let it sink in for a minute… OK, girls? Love ya!

For my layout, I used some of my favorite brands and pieces from the last CHA release. I love when I can just cobble together elements I love and get them to all work together on one layout.

Through a series of layers, I was able to get even the transparencies to pop-up off the page without seeing the foam dots. I felt pretty darn clever and am very happy with how this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by here today. Scoot on over to the Whimsical Twist blog sometime today to see what the rest of the gals made. Below you can find links to the Whimisical Twist shop for the items I used (happy shopping!).

Supplies: American Crafts (Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party - Wood Veneers), (Amy Tan Cut & Paste - Stitched Vellum Pockets, Fabric Stickers), Crate Paper (Maggie Holmes Flea Market - 12 x 12 Printed Bokeh Vellum Paper), Allison Kreft for Webster's Pages (Recorded Alpha Sticker), Fancy Pants (Happy-go-lucky Small Decorative Tags), Sequins

My Favorites {whimsical twist}

Yesterday on the Whimsical Twist blog some of us on the design team shared projects that showed off our favorites. I have a lot of faves on this page! First off, of course, is that boy. My favorite little person to hang out with and by far the light of my life. We had spent the day at Godfrey's Pond enjoying some sand on our toes and playground time. Good times!

I also used the Crate DIY Shop 6x6 paper pad. I love the woodgrain, stripes and bokeh effect sheet — so I used all 3 on this layout. The date is also in my favorite style Thickers.

The circle tags are from Elle's Studio Cameron collection. Another favorite! Of course, you can't ignore the sequins. Who doesn't love those?!

Hop on over to Whimsical Twist to see what else was shared yesterday. And if you feel like shopping, Whimsical Twist already has the shop stocked with new My Mind's Eye Chalkboard collection. The pre-order set up for new Crate Paper goodies, Fancy Pants and American Crafts is really easy, too. If you know you want some of the latest new releases, save your order with Kimmie — you'll be glad you did, and her shipping is really low, too.

Have I mentioned here yet that she also has Silhouette mats and blades in stock? That's a bonus to add to any order!

Thanks for stopping here today! There is a gift card up for grabs on the Whimsical Twist site. Stop by there to enter the Rafflecopter giveaway and play along.

Croppin' friends

Hello! I had some time this past weekend to make a page using some of my favorite items I had laying around my scrappy space. Even though I scrap mainly for a boy, I still order some of the more girly items that I love when they are released.

I love the Glitz Unchartered Waters collection, the new Maggie Holmes collection from Crate Paper and the Fancy Pants buttons and little bags. I also jumped on those wood veneer clouds from Freckled Fawn and the anchors from Studio Calico.

This picture was taken at a crop I went to not too long ago for a Relay For Life fundraiser. Kate Vickers came on over from Canada, Lisa Swift lives in the area and Audrey Yeager came from neighboring Syracuse. It was so fun to hang with these ladies for the day. My friend Renee was there, too, but managed to duck the photos.

I liberated the sequins from the pocket that comes in the Maggie Holmes collection and sprinkled them around the page. Wow — these little stinkers get away from you fast and I'm sure there are more in the carpet than I want to admit.

Thanks for stopping by here today. Love how this turned out and I was happy to share it here today. Enjoy your week!

A father, a hero

Hello there! This is my page for Sketchy Thursdays this week. Heidi has managed another fabulous sketch for you all—and I love when I get to play along with her sketches!!

I made this page using pictures from Easter (believe it or not). My dear husband had to work that day, so we drove out to where he was working, packed some food, and had a freezing cold picnic (lol) so he could stop by for a sandwich. We do what we can with the schedule we've been dealt, right? It turned out to be a great day.

And anytime I get fabulous pictures of Nate having a moment with his father is a great day.

Most of what is on this page is from Crate Paper's Toy Box collection. I only have a few sheets and stickers from this collection, but I knew when I did use it, it would have to be for something special. I think I pulled it off. :)

This week at Sketchy Thursdays is sponsored by Miss Art's Papercraft School. Check out the details over on the site and see what sketch there is to play along with. And thanks for stopping by to read my post and see my work! Much appreciated!!

DIY glass ornaments

Hello! Today I'm sharing with you an ornament I made using a do-it-yourself glass ornament, ribbon and rub-ons. These rub-ons are from Crate Paper Snow Days, and they came in the December kit from Scrapbook Circle.

This ornament was super easy to make. The rub-ons from Crate Paper work really well. They don't need too much rubbing to adhere on the glass and don't flake off.

If you've never worked with ornaments like these before, you can get them at most craft and hobby stores. The top comes off easily for you to add something inside the ornament. But be careful, it better be small because the opening is limiting.

Thanks for stopping by to see my ornament today. I actually have another ornament for you tomorrow, too. Have a good day!!

Crate Paper birdhouse and exciting news

I'm so excited to also let you in on a cool project I made.

Over on the Scrapbook News and Review site I am a guest blogger with a wonderful little birdhouse tutorial made with Crate Paper Snow Day from the Joyful Kit at Catch The Moments Kits.

This same birdhouse is also in the running for the Crate Paper Happy Holidays Blog Event! Yippee!! I could win a super large box of surprise Crate Paper goodness. In all honesty, I am just so happy to even be included as a project in the running. :)

Thanks for stopping by to see my birdhouse today. I hope you'll stop by SNR to see the tutorial. It's a step-by-step lesson in constructing this, fit for any happy little bird!
