an important favor to ask...

When we have dear friends we always support them... in everything! So here I am showing support for my dearest friend, Heidi. You all know her as the other half of Sketchy Thursdays. Well, ST would not be what it is without my Heidi!! So, here I am, asking for you to support her on Torendi's blog contest for their new DTs.

OK.. could her card be ANY CUTER?! For real?! Click HERE to go vote for Ms. Heidi and her awesome card!

Thanks much if you take the time to vote (right, top sidebar... select HEIDI!)

lesson 24: dear.... for get meaningful

Just a reminder to get your pages posted to THIS POST and THIS POST by EOD tomorrow (Tuesday) to be entered to win a RAK from me!

Here is the reminder on the prompt info:

Writing letters is one of the oldest forms of communication. This lesson is about using a letter as part of your project. It's a great way to put a new angle on your journaling and can encourage you to capture a story you might not have otherwise.

Your letter can be to someone real or imaginary. It can be serious or silly. The point is to record a memory!

the fall festival crop is this weekend!

I know I've mentioned it before, but just a reminder to check into Memories Always - Forever this weekend for the Fall Festival Online Crop Oct. 17-19. LOTS of prizes. LOTS of games. LOTS of challenges.

The DT has been working hard for more than a month to make sure there are a wide variety of challenges and plenty of prizes to be won.

Check it out! Go on over now, sign up at MAF if you haven't already, and stake your spot in a very fun weekend ahead! (You may need to pick some Bingo words... I'm just saying...)

I am personally hosting a make-and-take challenge for the holidays, and made a special Sketchy Thursdays sketch just for MAF's Fall Festival Online Crop. I'll be giving a prize from my stash for the sketch winner.

For the make-and-take challenge... here's a list to make you wonder, as well as pre-shop if you need to:
Flowers
Bling
Glue Dots
Glitter
A cardboard cone or 12x12 heavy card stock

Can't wait to see you over there!

a little "if" and a "dream" and some "play ball"

I love that sometimes when I can sit down and really plan my pages, I come up with a page I'd never think of on my own. Here is my "pile it on" page!

Spunky Scrappers: Games (in this case, baseball)
Design Dollies: The sketch and the 3 pieces of bling on the flowers
Scrapfreak: Big Dreams—week 2 for Oct. Friday challenges (the hidden journaling off the right side where I wrote a note to my son that my dream for him is that he'll be able to play organized sports as he gets older)
Scrap That Poetry:
Rudyard Kipling's "IF"
(the pieces of the quote I used in the journal spot)
Pile It On: Three dimensional (I lifted up the middle pic, the journal spot, some of the flowers and the ribbon.

Do you like the papers and embellies on this page? Nearly everything came from my Lil Scrappin Mama October kit. OMG... it is great! If you are looking for a great fall kit, this is the one. Head on over before they're all gone!

latte love... yum!

Here I go combining challenges again! But first I have to tell you that pumpkin spice lattes are the best drinks on the face of the earth. OK... well that may be exaggerating, but you know during Oct. and Nov. they are to die for.

The idea for this page came from The Pink Ninjas prompt: Drinks. This was not a tough choice for me at all. There is a new prompt up now, but I am just now getting around to sharing this with you.

This page also has doodling on it for the first Freaky Friday challenge for October over at Scrapfreak. Every Friday they post a new one and you have all month to complete them all at your own pace. Want to do some doodling? Get some doodling inspiration? Head on over... I'd love to see you over there!

And, last but certainly not least, this page's sketch came from the ladies over at If The Shoe Fits... Scrap It! I am one of the newest DT members over there and am happy to be playing along with these lovely ladies. Check out the sketch HERE for Fashionista Friday #6 and play along with us. You have a whole week to complete the challenge. Can't wait to see your page!!

Sketchy Thursdays has a big surprise for you tomorrow. Make sure you have a chance to drop by... (hint, hint)

a digi page for sketchy thursdays

Hi all! The new sketch is up and running over at Sketchy Thursdays. And the prize this week is a digital scrapping kit from Sassy Designs, Ltd.

The design team had a chance to play with the kit before the reveal. Take a look over there and see what we were able to come up with ... all very different and all from the same kit. I think that is pretty neat!

Above is the page that I made, and here is the sketch for you to play along with this week. Can't wait to see what you make! Also, the time to enter has been changed. Please submit your Sketchy Thursdays entry to Mr. Linky by 10 p.m. (EST) on Wed. 10/14.

are you spunky?

I have been playing over at Spunky Scrappers for a few weeks and have been loving the prompts. They are different, uncomplicated and very easy to complete. I like the out-of-the box ideas, and I love the ladies that are over there on the forum.

We need you, though! I am not on the DT, this is not a public service announcement, I am honestly asking you all to head on over, say that I sent you, and play along with us.

The prompt this week is "Games." The DT has posted some great inspiration, and I am already thinking about what I can do.

just a quick hello and reminders

Nothing much to post about today. All 5 projects I was working on these past few days are on hold for DT reveals. So, I'll have lots to show you shortly. For now, I wanted to post some reminders and share pics of my son enjoying World Card Making Day. He loves to use stamps and color pencils. He was at this for more than an hour. I am so proud!

His table is in my scrap room, so we like to go in there and play when we can (especially on the evenings Daddy works late).

Just a few housekeeping items. Get your Sketchy Thursdays entry in HERE before tomorrow night for a chance to win a $25 gift card to Scrap Freak. It's a random draw, so no excuses!! You have to play to win!

And Memories Always - Forever is hosting an online crop in less than two weeks. We'd love to see you there! I'll be hosting a sketch challenge with a prize, as well as a make-and-take tutorial (perfect for the holidays)! If you aren't a member over there, you're missing out! Stop by, sign up and play along!
