Last year, in 2010, my word was based on my experiences from 2009. Which was a HORRIBLE year. Quite possibly the worst year of my life so far. And I'm not exaggerating. Only two people know my word from 2010, and also the reason why I had chosen it and why I chose to keep it a secret. (You know who you are!!)
I found that once I shared my word that a weight was lifted. I had a confidant. I had a place for my secrets. For my hurt. So this year, I'm not keeping it a secret. I need to put it out there and see it every day.
Trust me, I lived last year's One Little Word. I repeated it to myself every single day. All day. Every day. I believe that it really, really helped me. So there is something to this OLW thing.
This year, my word is.....
Not happiness, but instead just HAPPY.
As in...
Live Happy.
Be Happy.
Give Happy.
Receive Happy.
Do Not Fake Happy.
Seek out Happy.
At last... Happy.
I know this is my second post today, but I couldn't wait. When it came to me, I needed to write it down, and that's what a blog is for right... random ramblings we hope to share and connect with someone about. :)
I also want to leave you with something that I looked at every day in my office at work. I have stared at this quote and lived it in 2010.
That quote and another one that my boss says (which I believe came from Einstein): "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different response."
We can not expect our lives to change without changing anything in ourselves first. I leave you with that as you choose your One Little Word for the year. I plan on making a page for mine soon, and I hope you will, too, once you choose your word.
Thanks for reading my blog (again) today!

Happy! Love it. I have a quote on the bottom of my siggy line on a few boards and it says, "The time to be happy is now." You can't wait to be happy, be happy today! Happy... it's a good thing! ;)
