Introducing Copper & Caramel

I have news — and it's the crafty kind!

Copper & Caramel is a new adventure started by myself and Sara Zenger. Our little shop and site was born out of a need for us to work together on a fun project while being creative and sharing our love for cards, stamps and creativity with others.

The Copper & Caramel name came from a comment our sons made during a moms/sons trip this past summer — though we aren't the crime fighting ninjas/detectives they wanted us to be originally.

The Copper & Caramel Etsy Shop has many of our favorite handmade card designs for sale. Stop by and take a look at what we've been up to. Make sure to fill your cart and take advantage of the 25% off sale we have going on for our launch.

Here are just a few sneak peeks at some of my favorite cards in the shop. I color all of my cards with Copics and use 80 lb card bases or 110-120 solar white for coloring with the Copics.

Card: The Best Way to Spread Christmas Cheer is Singing Loud for All to Hear

Set of 4 Cards: Holiday Cards with Classic Buildings

Card: It's Been Too Long

Part of a 2-Card Set: Hope Santa Spoils You Rotten

Tags: Puppy Gift Tags

To celebrate the beginning of our new adventure, Sara and I wanted to share a sketch challenge. Many of you following Copper & Caramel are already crafty card makers, so we want to keep you inspired to keep making cards, too!

Here's the card I made to go with the sketch.

Feel free to be inspired and share your card with us! Follow along on the Copper & Caramel blog

Retreat Pages | Some Favorites

At the My Scraps and More Retreat last weekend I made six layouts, a few PL spreads and many cards. Some of my favorites I can't share here because they have pictures of other people's kids in them (baseball pictures), but here are two layouts I loved how they turned out and I can post here.

I set out to make this layout thinking it would eat up a chunk of time on my Saturday afternoon. Much to my surprise, the Cameo makes this cutting so easy that I was done with it before I knew it. I love how it turned out, and it is possibly the most cut-intensive page I have done in a long time.

I always seem to make a layout with a woodgrain background every time I get together with Audrey! So here is said layout.

Such a fun summertime page. I loved mixing and matching multiple summertime collections on this one.

Thanks for stopping by today! It was great to have a dedicated weekend for my crafty friends — hope to have another one sooner rather than later.

Scrapbook Circle | Oct Sketch Challenge

Better late than never! Last Friday I shared the latest sketch on the Scrapbook Circle blog, and then I had a chance to work with the sketch myself over the weekend while I was at the My Scraps and More Retreat in Syracuse.

I used the Oct. Mix Tape kit for my page.

The newest addition to my fam is Mr. Macaroni & Cheese, aka Mack, aka Mr. Waggy Bottom. He is the best pup and I could not be any happier than when he wiggles his tail and looks up at me.

The Pretty Little Studio Word Cut Out Strips were perfect for capturing such a day-to-day moment. So were the Pink Paislee Memorandum Gold Foil Stickers.

If you would like to play along, the details are on the Scrapbook Circle blog here. Thanks for visiting to see my Mr. Mack page.

World Card Making Day | 2015

I had a great 3 days with Audrey Yeager and her My Scraps and More Retreat in Syracuse, NY this past weekend. Saturday was also World Card Making Day, so of course I managed to fit in a few cards along with the layouts I made over the course of the long weekend.

I wanted to share them quickly while we are all in the mood to celebrate the art of making cards.

Often I like to make simple cards on white and leave off the sentiments until I mail the card, that way I can personalize the card. But even without the sentiments, these cards are fun to see.

I wanted to note that I used the WRMK Fuse Tool and a 3x4 Project Life sleeve to make the shaker part of my card.

Happy World Card Making Day (Weekend)!

Here are links to some of the products I used in case you were looking for them: Tim Holtz Bird Crazy Dies and Stamps,  Tim Holtz Crazy Things Stamps, Tim Holtz Freshly Brewed. All of my coloring was done with Copics.

Boy-Mom Weekend | Scrapbook Circle

The Hello Hello kit from Scrapbook Circle is a fun one this month! (But then again, aren't they all?) I had some fun playing around with the word bubbles paper and the alphas in this kit.

The 7 Paper Amelia Word Stickers (Black and Gold) had to be one of my favorite parts of the kit. I love the black accents against the softer colors in the kit.

If you haven't grabbed a kit yet, there are a few left. Reserve one for yourself here. You'll be glad you did!

And thanks for stopping by here today!

July Sketch | Scrapbook Circle

Looking for something fun to get your crafty weekend started? There is a new sketch challenge at Scrapbook Circle today. If you play along and share your page with us, you could be our random winner and get a $10 credit to the SC shop.

Here is the page I made using the sketch.

If you don't know me through Instagram or Facebook you might not have seen the new pup in town — Mack. We call him Macaroni too often and he is such a great puppy.

I used the SC July Kit: You Are My Favorite and the Add On: Let's Do It Again to make my page.

I hope you'll have a chance to play along with us this month! Thanks for visiting here today to see my layout.

Yes! | Scrapbook Circle

Hello! Just dropping by today to share another layout I made using Scrapbook Circle's June Kit: Have a Little Fun Today. I also have the List Keeper add-on kit this month on this page.

This kit definitely has a travel-feel to it, but I also think it goes well with adventure themes in general. So many of the things we document for our kids are their adventures. They "take flight" in so many other ways besides for an actual airplane or road trip.

I wanted to use this kit to show the boy's current milestones and challenges. For my boy right now, it's learning to skateboard. This is his moment — his adventure.

Don't let the themes in your kit clubs or on your papers deter you from using the products. Airplanes can mean so much else. Life is an adventure — it's time to spread your wings and try something new.

Thanks for visiting here today to see my layout!

Don't forget to stop by this past Monday's post for the Cut Shoppe/Scrapbook Circle hop.

Cut Shoppe Hop | Scrapbook Circle

Scrapbook Circle is hopping along with Cut Shoppe this week! We will be sharing great ways to use the Cut Shoppe unique and fun files along with your Scrapbook Circle kits.

You should have come to me from Jamie's blog. If you aren't hopping along yet, you can start at the beginning on the Scrapbook Circle blog

For my page, I used the Say What cut file from Cut Shoppe and the June Kit: Have a Little Fun Today.

I used a black Silhouette sketch pen and my Cameo along with the cut file to create a doodle-like background page. I liked how the black and white doodles make the photo and papers really stand out in the center of the layout.

Your next stop on the hop is Tessa. Make sure to stop at all of the blogs on the hop for chances at prizes and of course for the inspiration.

Then Cut Shoppe is also offering a 30% off special for those of you hopping along. Swing by the shop and pick up a few files for yourself.

Thanks for hopping along this week!

June sketch challenge | Scrapbook Circle

Time for a new sketch challenge for Scrapbook Circle! You can see the details about playing along on the Scrapbook Circle blog, as well as pages from some of the other gals on the creative team.

Here is the page I made using the June Kit: Have a Little Fun Today. I also have the List Keeper add-on kit this month on this page.

For some unexplainable reason, the boy took an interest in skateboarding. He is really bad on his roller blades. Seriously … really bad! Of course, I was hesitant to let him try, but he is athletic in so many other ways that I hoped he'd be able to handle it. And he did!

This kid is a natural! Earlier this week I went for a 1.5 mile run and he skated beside me the whole time without falling or going off the road.

This month's kit at Scrapbook Circle made it so easy to document this moment. I love the bright colors, the word-pattern papers and the stars. I always gravitate to stars for the boy's pages.

The Amy Tan Grace foam letters are perfect for this page, too!

Thanks for stopping here to see my layout. Scoot on over to the SC blog to play along with the sketch this month.

Scrapbook Circle's 9th Anniversary | Hop

It's May, which means we are celebrating Scrapbook Circle's 9th Anniversary! So this week we are hosting a blog hop with our design team members. Hop along from blog to blog to see some of the fun things we have created with the May Hello Sunshine Kit.

If you found me first, the hop starts at the Scrapbook Circle blog. Leave comments along the way while visiting our team members' blogs. Each comment will get you one entry into a random drawing where we will be giving away 5 May Hello Sunshine Kits.

You should have come to my blog from Jamie Leija.

Here is what I made for this week's 9th anniversary celebration.

Your next stop on the hop is Tessa Buys.

Commenting closes at midnight (PST) on May 21. We will post the winners on the Scrapbook Circle blog on May 22.

Thank you all for hoping along with us!

Scrapbook Circle instaHop | iNSD 2015

The gals at Scrapbook Circle are having an interNational Scrapbooking Day Instagram hop this weekend. Make sure to stop at all of their Instagram accounts and leave a comment. Five commenters on Instagram will be chosen to win Scrapbook Circle kits.

You can start at the Scrapbook Circle Instagram page and find all of the pages along the way.

This is the page I made for the instaHop. I used the Hello Sunshine May kit to make my page.

All of these fab colors are really making me happy for the warmer weather. Especially for this boy and his baseball team.

I hope you'll get a chance to hop along with Instagram accounts. If you don't have time for them all, swing by my Instagram feed and leave a quick comment on mine so you have a chance to win.

Happy iNSD!
