Top 13 of 2013

I had an amazing 2013! My OLW for this year was "FUN," and I certainly had a lot of it.

I had the opportunity to work with amazing ladies in scrapbooking and card making. I joined some new teams and said goodbye to teams that I adored.

Here is a look back at the my thirteen favorite projects from 2013…

Challenge: Using frames {bella blvd}

Today on Bella Blvd's blog some of us on the design team are highlighting fun ways to use frames. Make sure to check the Bella Blvd blog to see what everyone made!

Put a spin on your photo cards and make a wreath frame for your photos! This style has a nostalgic feel to it and will wow the loved one who receives it.

To make this card, I used the Cameo to cut three different sized holly leaves and layered them on the edges a 2" circle photo. A fun border punch, some bling and a twine loop at the top complete the finished card.

Supplies: Christmas Countdown (Pattern paper: O'Tannenbaum), Paper pieces, Captions. Button Market: Masculine Mix

Since we are looking at frames today, I wanted to make sure to use the die cut frames in the Paper Pieces package. The red gingham frame works well layered with the green gingham paper in the Christmas Countdown collection. A cute tree for the focal point and a cluster at the top add the perfect touches.

Thanks for stopping by here to see my cards today. It's almost Christmas! Time to finish up the last of those holiday cards.

December Days {part 2}

Hello again! I am back with the second part of my December Days catch up posts. If you aren't familiar with how I structure my album, it is an event-based album instead of daily. There is so much going on in December, that it is much easier for me to document the events rather than each single day.

For this event, we went to visit my family in Ohio for an early Christmas. I took a ton of pictures, but I didn't want to overwhelm the album, so I just included in the album a few of my favorites. It can be really easy to let one event overwhelm an album like this, but pre-planning your events and traditions in advance can help you before you get carried away.

After the trip, I wanted to include a picture of our tree. One of our favorite things about the holidays is sitting in a dimly lit living room under the glow of the tree. Had to capture that even though it isn't an event … got to get those little moments documented.

The big snowfall finally arrived! This is one event that I look forward to each year — those first big snowfalls that get the boy out of the out and into some playtime.

Snow might not seem like an event, but it is for me! Each year in my December album I make sure to grab some pictures of that first clean, fresh snow. By mid January we'll all be sick of it — I want to remember the moment when I welcomed it.

Thanks for visiting here today to see my December Days progress!

December Days album {part 1}

I've been keeping up pretty well with my December Days album this month, but not so much with the sharing part of it. Here is the first round of pages I want to share with you.

For me (and this is what I did last year, too), I start my album on Thanksgiving (or Black Friday). For us, that is the kick off. We put the tree up that weekend and often do a festive activity or two, as well.

I used the Krafty Kringle kit as the base for my kit. I also ended up adding in some extra Pink Paislee Snow Village and Elle's Studio Noel. Plus some other holiday bits and pieces I found along the way.

So far, this is just up to Nov. 30! I've had some great fun putting this album together, and my son loves to flip through it. He kept kidnapping last year's album and I'm sure this one will be no different.

I'll be back tomorrow with some more catch up on my December Days album. Thanks for stopping by here today to see what I've been working on.

Handmade Holidays {pink paislee}

Pink Paislee has been celebrating 12 days of amazing holiday inspiration, and today is my day on the Pink Paislee blog. I created a gift box and paper-crafted ornament using the Pink Paislee Snow Village collection.

You can download the FREE project sheet that goes with my gift box and ornament on the Pink Paislee blog. The project sheets have detailed instructions on how to create and assemble these projects.

Below are some close-up photos of the gift box. I used 12x12 pattern paper from Snow Village to wrap the box — I may never buy wrapping paper again! We all have plenty of 12x12 paper, don't we?!

I used a combination of the Paper Goods die cuts and vellum pieces as well as the chipboard stickers to get the textured and layered look on the front of this gift. Some sequins add a bit of sparkle.

I truly enjoyed making these projects and know that you will too! Make sure to stop by the blog and get the project sheet download.

Supplies (GIFT BOX): Pink Paislee Snow Village: Pattern paper (Peppermint Patty), Element Stickers, Paper Goods, Layered Chipboard Stickers

Supplies (ORNAMENT): Pink Paislee Snow Village: Pattern paper (Peppermint Patty, Buttered Rum), Silhouette Online Store (3d star ornament by Loni Harris)
