On This Day {scrapbook circle}

The Scrapbook Circle October kit, On This Day is a fabulous kit for fall. Cork pieces, autumn-inspired colors and fun patterns fill this kit.

Here's a fun page I put together with the main kit.

In March I made this circle file that I used for the background here. It's a free download, so feel free to grab one if you haven't already. It is one of my favorite die cut backgrounds.

The denim pattern mixed with the orange and bold patterns worked perfectly for this layout about a trip to a trampoline park. It went well with the orange brand for the company (everything in that building was orange!) and the fun evening we had with friends.

The Pinkfresh Studios Wood Drop Stickers are one of my favorite things this month. I love the added dimension and texture to my page.

Thanks for visiting here today. Don't forget to grab an October kit for yourself!

Pssst: The Freckled Fawn Very Merry Kit is also for sale at Scrapbook Circle. Add one of those to your shipment, too!

Card sketch {bella blvd}

Today is card sketch day for September over on the Bella Blvd blog. Below are two cards I made using this month's sketch.

For my card, I turned the sketch vertical instead of horizontal. I kept pretty true to the bottom pattern paper and the left-of-center main image. Instead of an image and a sentiment, I chose to make the main image the whole sentiment. The ruffled area indicated on the sketch is represented on the card with some folds of washi tape.

Supplies: Halloween Magic (Pattern paper: Daily Details Halloween Magic), Chipboard Icons.
Designer Tape: Chevron Combo Pack (black)

This card is also turned vertically from the horizontal sketch. There are more background layers on my card than in the sketch and I left off the ruffled strip. Instead, for texture, I used a piece of twine. The main image and sentiment are still kept left of center and are the predominant focus of the card.

Supplies: Hello Autumn (Pattern paper: Time to Rake, Gatherings, Borders Hello Autumn, Daily Details Hello Autumn)

If you like card sketches, make sure to pin this one and then swing on over to the Bella Blvd blog to see what the other gals made.

Pinterest Inspiration {bella blvd}

Today on the Bella Blvd blog some of the team is sharing with you inspiration we took from this image found on Pinterest. Here are the two cards I made.

Using the Pinterest inspiration for this card, I was drawn to the muted monotone colors. I chose gray and white, which is very similar in tone to the image. I also wanted to use a lot of words on this, as inspired by the letters. For that, I included the phrase next to the main image.

Supplies: Halloween Magic (Pattern paper: Daily Details Halloween Magic), Paper Pieces and Die Cuts, Chipboard Icons, Treasures & Text

For this card, I pulled the stacked lettering as my inspiration from the image. I arranged the HALLOWEEN chipboard letters to mimic the layout in the image. Though this card is much brighter than the image, it is more literal in the arrangement and the center focal point.

Supplies: Halloween Magic: Chipboard Icons, Treasures & Text, Paper Pieces and Die Cuts

This is the sketch that Yana made for us to draw inspiration from for our cards.

Here is the card I made using the sketch challenge. I was inspired for the lower righthand cluster of embellishments and the splatters in the background.

I couldn't resist using neon pink ink from Hero Arts with some fabulous gold striped glitter paper.

New kicks {fancy pants}

This week some of the ladies at Fancy Pants are hopping along with Clearsnap. Today I am sharing the layout I made with the Fancy Pants True Friend collection and some goodies I had the opportunity to try out from Clearsnap.

The picture of my son's new sneakers from the first day of school reminded me of the Crackle Background Jumbo Design Wheel from Clearsnap. It gave a continuity to the asphalt in the driveway from the picture.

I used ColorBox Cat's Eye Queue Popcorn Ink to ink the Design Wheel. The ink covered the black paper from Fancy Pants really well and didn't smear off of the wheel. I was thrilled with the result.

I also used Color Box Spritzers Dye Ink Spray in Seattle Sky for the little drops of mist on the background. I loved how this mist dried with fuzzy edges and the droplets weren't perfect circles. The colors is gorgeous, too — a mix between silver and a gray-blue.

I added in True Friend sequins to give some more dimension to the misting. They coordinated perfectly with both the colors from Clearsnap and the colors in the True Friend collection.

Thanks for stopping by here today to see my layout. Make sure to check out the Fancy Pants blog all week long as we partner up with Clearsnap.

Now for this month's theme: Fall

For this month's theme, I made a fall wreath for my front door. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the pumpkin is cut from gold glittered card stock. It looks a little silver in the picture, but it is really a rich buttery gold color. It really pops against the raw texture of the burlap twine on the wreath base.

I also added a die-cut dotted line down the center of the larger leaves cut from yellow card stock and glittered paper in a rusty brown color. It added great dimension to the leaves.

Challenge #15 | Clean & Simple {avery elle}

Happy Friday and welcome to another challenge for the AEI♥U Challenge blog. This week we are sharing cards that are clean and simple.

Here is the card that I made — clean, simple and with just a touch of sparkle.

I couldn't resist adding clear bling and a large band of metallic striped washi to go along with my clean and simple card. The bird is the only splash of color — drawing your eye to the sentiment.

I hope you'll get a chance to play along with us!

Avery Elle stamps or their free digital stamps must be used in each entry. You may enter as many times as you wish, but they must be posted to the InLinkz tool separately. Please enter a new, not previously posted project that fits the challenge theme.  Your project must fit the theme to be eligible to win. The winner will not be chosen randomly.  We will be looking for entries that include great use of color, design & creativity. You have until 12:01 AM (PT) on Sunday, September 14th to enter.  The winner will be announced on Thursday, September 18th at 6:00 AM (Pacific Time) on the Avery Elle Challenge Blog.

Pinterest Inspired {bella blvd}

Today on the Bella Blvd blog, we are sharing projects that have been inspired by the above Pinterest-shared image. I made two cards with the Hello Autumn collection.

I was used the orange and blue for the main colors on this card, and the woodgrain in the background paper mimics the woodgrain on the home in the Pinterest image.

Supplies: Hello Autumn (Pattern paper: Borders Hello Autumn, Daily Details Hello Autumn, Day Dream), Paper Pieces Die Cuts

For this card I was inspired by the orange and blue and even literally the way the image had stripes of color at the bottom of the image. The owl is too cute and I placed him in about the same place as where the door is in the image.

Supplies: Hello Autumn (Pattern paper: Perfect Pick, Day Dream Daily Details Hello Autumn, Borders Hello Autumn)

Thanks for stopping to see my cards today. You can scoot on over to the Bella Blvd blog to see how some of the other ladies on the team interpreted the image for their projects.

Chores Spinner {samantha walker}

Head on over to the Samantha Walker blog today to see how I made this Chores Spinner for my son.

With the school year starting back up this week, I wanted to make sure that I made it easy for the boy to keep up with his chores during the school days.

Asking him to spin the wheel is so much more fun than telling him to pick one thing to take care of for the day.

Thanks for stopping by here today!

Sketch This {fancy pants}

I am the lucky person who gets to reveal to you the Sketch This sketch for Fancy Pants this month. Jenny made a wonder sketch for us for September and I had a blast working with it. You can see the sketch she made at the end of this post.

I love the teal, black and mustard yellow colors in the True Friend collection. They worked really well with these summer fun photos I had from our day at a local amusement park.

The sequins are also from True Friend and perfectly coordinate with the colors in the collection. Such a great idea and so convenient to have those to work with for my pages.

Here is the sketch for September for Fancy Pants. Make sure to pin it and use it later on next time you need some crafty inspiration.

Thanks for stopping to see my layout today!
