my sissy

My sister and I are the bookends of the siblings. We are 14 years apart in age and there are two brothers in-between us. Ashley lives in Michigan with my mom and stepdad, and as many of you know, I am in NY with my husband and son.

I've been wanting to make something kind of feminine and girly, and this suddenly all came together! This project was inspired by the Moxie Fab doilies and lace challenge, and the embellishments challenge at Scrapfreak.

When my mom posted some pictures on Facebook this past weekend, this one of my sister and I from last summer was in that batch of photos. I hadn't seen it before, and it motivated this project that's been knocking around in my head for awhile.

I hung this frame from a thick, satin brown ribbon on a white, distressed metal hook in my scraproom and it look fabulous... actually is looks Moxie Fab, lol!

Thanks for checking this out today! I know I am just getting this in under the wire for the challenges, but I am so glad for the inspiration to finally get this out of my head and into my hands! :)

Supplies: Girls Paperie (paper), Dear Lizzy (pink ribbon), American Crafts Flair (button), Cosmo Cricket (letter stickers), October Afternoon Fly a Kite (paper for petals), lace, blue button and paper for flower (vintage finds).

(I'm getting some great security words today! This one was oboxes. I've got me a new emphatic expression, I do!)

Gorgeous project. That pic of you and your sister is beautiful. I also laughed when you called yourselves "the bookends". I've never heard of it referred to in that way before - but it sure does fit. ;)
