Grateful & a winner! {whimsical twist}

Today at Whimsical Twist some of the design team is sharing what they are grateful and/or thankful for. I am immensely grateful for my relationships with these ladies. Each one of them in important to me, and I was so lucky to get to spend a weekend in October with them.

If you aren't sure who these ladies are, here they are from left to right: Renee (a very dear friend of mine who makes me laugh and wipes my tears. I'd be lost without her), me, Sara Z. (bestie, soul sister, scrapbooking Skyper and fellow coffee junkie. She is my "twin" living way too far away), Heather L. (an amazing scrapbooking artist who makes me belly laugh — I love that!), and Audrey Y. (the perfect mix of Upstate NY humor and Texan hospitality. I am blessed to call her a friend). 

This is probably the first time these girls have heard/read how I feel about them…so let's let it sink in for a minute… OK, girls? Love ya!

For my layout, I used some of my favorite brands and pieces from the last CHA release. I love when I can just cobble together elements I love and get them to all work together on one layout. 

Through a series of layers, I was able to get even the transparencies to pop-up off the page without seeing the foam dots. I felt pretty darn clever and am very happy with how this turned out.

Krafty Kringle kit {update}

I am so excited to have a custom December Days kit for sale in the Whimsical Twist shop. Unlike the day-in-the-life kits, the Krafty Kringle Kit is meant to mark the events and celebrations from Thanksgiving to New Years. Pockets and tabs throughout the kit help you to document and save lists, receipts, ticket stubs — you name it! Tic Tac Toe {whimsical twist}

Hello and happy Monday! Today at Whimsical Twist we are sharing a new challenge to keep you motivated and scrappy. This challenge is to use the Tic Tac Toe board we provided and use elements that line up 3 in a row on one project.

Since I like a lot of embellishments on a page, I used 2 different lines of 3 on my page. I used washi/enamel dots/thickers as well as the washi/vellum/spray mist line. You can see the board at the end of this post or on the Whimsical Twist blog.

I also used the Glitz Design Dapper Dan collection on this baseball layout. I love the manly rugged feel to that collection for my son's pages. You can scoop up some Dapper Dan in the Whimsical Twist shop.

Fall banner {whimsical twist}

Today over on the Whimsical Twist blog, we are sharing projects that highlight Scallops/Borders/Banners/Doilies. We want you to play along with us, so check out the blog post and share your work that falls under these categories. 

I made this using the My Mind's Eye Chalk Studio 6x6 paper pad and Cut & Paste enamel dots, some doilies I had in my stash and the Glitz Dapper Dan 6x6 paper pad. The orange card stock is from Core'dinations and the twine is from The Twinery.

I used the Dapper Dan collection for the acorns. I cut them on my Cameo using a studio file, and the woodgrain and brown papers in that collection were perfect for giving the acorns texture and a woodsy feel.

Here's what it looks like hanging up in my front entranceway. It's my favorite place to decorate with the seasons, and a banner always helps pull it all together.

Chalk Studio cards {whimsical twist}

Hello! Today I am blogging over at the Whimsical Twist blog. I was so excited to get the 6x6 paper pad and chipboard pieces from the Chalk Studio by My Mind's Eye from the Whimsical Twist shop. I was afraid to cut into for the longest time — and then I was inspired. 

I love the mix of tan, blue and pink with the blackboard papers. It makes it so easy to create very different looks with one common theme — the chalkboard. 

The chipboard pieces are great, too. So many different pieces on one sheet. I love the mix of blank and sentiment options.

Our travels {whimsical twist}

I was in Ohio in the beginning of August to visit family and the Travel Girl collection from October Afternoon is perfect for helping to document some of those photos. I also used some Carte Postale from Basic Grey and the Large Alpha Stickers from Fancy Pants for the OHIO lettering.

My Favorites {whimsical twist}

Yesterday on the Whimsical Twist blog some of us on the design team shared projects that showed off our favorites. I have a lot of faves on this page! First off, of course, is that boy. My favorite little person to hang out with and by far the light of my life. We had spent the day at Godfrey's Pond enjoying some sand on our toes and playground time. Good times!

I also used the Crate DIY Shop 6x6 paper pad. I love the woodgrain, stripes and bokeh effect sheet — so I used all 3 on this layout. The date is also in my favorite style Thickers.

The circle tags are from Elle's Studio Cameron collection. Another favorite! Of course, you can't ignore the sequins. Who doesn't love those?!
