Scrapbook Circle | Paper Issues Challenge

Scrapbook Circle has partnered up with Paper Issues for the latest Issue challenge at PI. You can win the March kit from Scrapbook Circle by playing along with the following prompt: Prints Charming's Beautiful Papers.

I played along using my April kit from Scrapbook Circle, which is chock full of amazing pattern papers. And of course, I included my little prince in the layout. 

In case the title of my page is throwing you off (lol), we decorated our Easter eggs this year to look like Minions. They took a little bit to dry between colors and then dry again to be able to put the googly eyes on. The boy was doing his math packet that was assigned for his spring break, so he kept taking turns between doing a problem and drawing the Minion faces on the eggs.

Easter basket | Bella Blvd

Easter is one of the cutest holidays. Everything is tiny — little pieces of candy, cute baby animals, and our little ones running like crazy kiddos looking for that last egg filled with jelly beans. 

Today Bella Blvd is looking at mixed media and altered projects, so I made this Easter basket using the Simply Spring collection and Color Chaos Clear Cuts. 

I added two treat containers with critter likenesses to my basket. The Simply Spring collection is just too cute — and perfect for making little gift bags, tags or cards for the Easter holiday.

The Clear Cuts overlays are perfect for making a unique basket. Make sure to throw in some grass and candy!

This idea would make a great hostess gift or basket for a wee little one who isn't expecting the overflowing chocolate goodness.

I love the large sheet of alphas in this month's kit — any excuse for me not to write on my pages! The brightly colored alphas worked out perfectly for an egg hunt layout. 

I used gesso and a Scrapbook Circle custom stencil to make the white circles on the side of the page.

Easter week {bella blvd}

Welcome to a week of Easter inspiration from Bella Blvd! Make sure to check out the Bella Blvd blog all week long as we all take turns sharing Easter goodness to inspire you. 

Shaped cards are always a treat to give and receive. Especially in the spring time! Bunnies, chicks, eggs — they are all adorable ways to send a greeting. I made this card with a Silhouette shape that I doubled, flipped and welded together to make a card.

Supplies: Lucky Starz (Pattern paper: Color Crazy; Color Wheel High Five), Crochet Hearts (White), Spring Fling (Miniatures)

For Easter, put your treats into a shaped box instead of individual eggs. Exchange a colorful pail instead of a basket for a fun variation on the expected eggs and basket. 

They'll be sure to brighten up the basket this year! I made these treat boxes using a carrot-shaped Silhouette gift box file, but then adding a hole at the top to fit the feathers as carrot toppers.

Xyron and Imaginisce

Imaginisce is pairing up with Xyron adhesives this week to show you how well they work together. Putting together this little chick-a-dee treat box for jellybeans was so easy with Xyron adhesive.

I especially like Xyron for 3-D projects because the sides hold together. I used the Xyron Mega Runner  to affix the sides and the Glue Stick for the feet and beak. After adding the heavy jellybeans to the front, it never wavered and held together perfectly.

Easter bunny visit {cocoa daisy}

Hi! I am so excited about Easter! Nate's Easter basket is going to be the best one yet (it helps that his "basket" is a giant LEGO tub instead of a small wicker basket), and he's old enough to really enjoy the holiday.

We had an unplanned stop to the mall last weekend and ended up seeing the bunny. Nate told the bunny that he wanted LEGOS and Pokémon, but then the bunny never answered his question about how he or she planned on getting into our house. So, that part is still stumping him (LOL), but he at least did his part in planning a great Easter basket. 

I used the Sprout April kit from Cocoa Daisy to make my page. I had already made 4 projects before I made this page, and as you can see, there was plenty of good stuff still there to make a fantastic layout.

Precious Remembrance {card}

Hello! Today I am happy to share with you my first card using the Precious Remembrance Shop Calendar stamp set that was reveal this week. I used the stamps on the little sign and also on the "Save the date." along the bottom.

I always love making Easter cards. I still remember an Easter card I made years ago that was a carrot in a wagon. These cards tend to be my first bright, cheery cards following the winter and hold a special place in my heart when I make them.

Easter card {imaginsce}

It's Easter week at Imaginisce and we are sharing cards today on the blog. I made this card using the Hippity Hop and Makin' Waves collections. 

I also used my i-top 2.0 to make small brads to used as closures for the tri-fold card. The inside is decorated with little butterflies punched from the Makin' Waves paper.

Spring wreath

If you've been following my blog for awhile, you may remember my rag wreath. Last time I shared it with you it was decorated for Valentine's Day. 

Now it is ready to go for spring! And I say spring instead of Easter because I know myself better than to say that after next week I'll change it again. The little eggs will stay on until I feel the summer heat settling in and decide to make something for the hot summer days.

I really love how this turned out. The decorations are pinned on with pretty white stick pins so that I can change it out without harm to the base of the wreath. (Thanks again to Sara Z. for that idea!!)

i-magicut ribbon cutter mini

Hello! This week the girls on the Imaginisce DT will be sharing with you our projects using the i-magicut ribbon cutter. I have to admit that I am in love with this ribbon cutter. I always find myself trimming and re-trimming my ribbon edges, so having a nice, neat cut right out of the gate is the best. 

For my project, I made a mini album for Nate. It is about last Easter and what we do on Easter morning. It'll be nice for him to have a little book about our Easter tradition. In addition to using the i-magicut ribbon cutter, I also used the Imaginisce Hippity Hop collection.

Here are some pictures of the inside of the mini. 

One of the neat things about the i-magicut ribbon cutter is that if you place the ribbon in the cutter folded and at an angle you can get different ends to the ribbon. I experimented with a few different angles and used those pieces inside the mini as decoration for the pages.

loving the crazy hair

My son is 3 today! He is home sick with me (bummer on the sick, yeah on another mommy cuddle day), and we are going to make the best of it. Lots of movies and hopefully some brownies tonight with candles on top. (Thank goodness his party isn't until next weekend.)


Being three, he now has a handsome crew cut to match Dad. But this time last year, he was still a little hairball. I am about a year behind in his scrapbook and did a page this week for Easter 2008.

I just had to focus on the hair and not that it was Easter. Sometimes it is good to do pages later on so that the nostalgia about what has changed comes through rather than the obvious at the time. I guess procrastination has its perks!
