Sealed with a kiss...

A few weeks ago I shared a wedding dress card that used layered lace over a die cut paper wedding dress. Today, my little wedding dress is made with a similar die cut dress, but I used one piece of very wide lace ribbon instead.

This ribbon came in the July kit I got from The Sampler (if the kit isn't posted yet, hopefully it will post soon)—and it's a gorgeous piece of ribbon. I wish I had a whole spool of it. It is the same ribbon used HERE for the top of the tag.


I made my card using the Tuesday Trigger from Moxie Fab. This inspiration is from the new Stamp It! Cards. I was attracted to the muted neutral/tan tones, the centered and detailed image and the solo splash of color with the teal (I used pink). I replaced the sun with clouds.

Fireworks {Sketchy Thursdays}

I haven't done a digital page in a few weeks, so I made one for this week's Sketchy Thursdays reveal. Actually, the husband has had a lot of time off the last month and I managed to fall a bit behind in my scrappy projects. For me, digital pages are much faster and don't require any photo time, so that's a bonus. Plus, I just love to make them!

Pretty tasty {on Pinterest}

Do you Pin? Are you on Pinterest? I know a lot of us creative, scrappy people are.

It is such a fabulously addictive place for the creative mind, is it not? Last week I vowed that I wasn't going to go grocery shopping without at least one new recipe from my Pinterest "Tasty" folder on the list.

This week I was good, and I made a few. I also have the ingredients for 2 more I will be making later this week.

The lettuce wraps were by far my favorite. I would not change anything at all about this recipe. It is a 5 stars for me!

Crockpot Lasagna

The lasagna was delish. I have made it 2x now, and I keep decreasing the cooking time each time I make it. For me, the four hours on low still makes the noodles too soft. Husband loves it, but I am now about to try only 3 hours, because even 3.5 hours made the noodles too soft. The rest is great and tasty!

This was a fabulous, quick lunch on a Sunday. I can see myself making this late at night after the husband gets off work and is desperate for a quick, filling snack. And definitely on the weekends for the boy.

Card Patterns GDT spot

Hello everyone! I was so excited to be chosen a few weeks ago at Card Patterns as their GDT for Sketch #122. Whenever I make a card, I start with the Card Patterns blog to see if I can use their current sketch for my inspiration, so I was really honored to be playing along with these gals for a week.


I made this card using the July kit for The Sampler. The July kit isn't live yet, but I hope I have peeked your interest for when it does. It's a lovely, girly kit this month.

This tag is what I made after seeing this month's inspiration. I was drawn to the brown, purple and cream colors. I used the bird to represent the owl and the lace for the ribbon because of the texture in the doilie. The baker's twine was inspired by the string in the picture.

Tee ball and {sketchy thursdays}

I love this page! Just love it! Ever have those pages that you just love as you are making them—getting excited with each added piece knowing that it is just going to be fabulous?! Well, that is this page for me.

The pictures are a compilation of Nate's entire tee-ball season. They had some practices before they had uniforms and a few rain outs, but of the games that were sunny, I managed to snag a few really good pictures.


These pictures show Nate's intensity and just how serious he is about playing ball. He really did hustle for every play, hit the ball with everything he had, and cheered on teammates with gusto. I am so proud!

Hat collection {my favorite things}

Nate has a hat collection. And a pretty good one at that. He proclaimed one day after buying a Yankees cap that he would like to collect hats. After that, he got a hat rack from the Easter Bunny and the rest is history.

Best boy kit ever {scrapbook circle}

Most of you know I am a huge Scrapbook Circle fan. I love, love, love the kits, the people and the creativity on the website.

The July kit is my favorite so far this year. I love the girly kits, and can always make them work for pages about Nate, but this kit screamed BOY to me the minute I saw it.


I made a double-page layout and a single within hours of opening it—with plenty of stuff left to make a few more.

Here is a sneak peek at one of the pages I was talking about. And I know you are out there—the girly moms that are drawn to the shabby chic papers and embellies and then realize that the boy stuff is hard to come by. Or even worse, like me, your boy pages start with pink, orange and yellow backgrounds. But we make it work. :)


And don't think there isn't a girly side to this kit—there is. I was just so happy to see astronauts and stars paired with blues and reds.
