Seabreeze {using the Cameo}

Hi! I had the idea for this layout in my head for a little while now. I knew when I had so many photos from our company picnic to Seabreeze Amusement Park that this would be the time to try it. 

I cut little tabbed folders from the Cameo and sized my photos in Photoshop to little thumbnail sizes. I got 4 or 5 up on a 4" x 6" — to give you an idea of how small they are.

 The bottom folder has 3 extra picture in it to hold some more memories in addition to the ones you can see on the layout. I need to remember this idea — I always have more pictures than I manage to get on the page.

Back to School {imaginisce}

It's Back to School week at the Imaginisce blog. Nate won't go back to school until September, but it was definitely a great reminder to get the last of his Kindergarten pages finished. I had one more layout I wanted to make before his first grade pictures started rolling in.

Nate had gotten two Caring Kids awards from his teacher and I wanted to find a way to tuck them into a special layout. I cut this apple card from the Cameo and used it as a pocket for the awards. A row of i-rock gems for the stem makes the apple shine!

I love this kit! As I said earlier, this kit just screams summertime to me. The distressed wood papers remind me of a playground. And the Simple Stories paper in the kit made for the perfect summer phrases.

Using the Cameo {and another winner}

If you have a Cameo or any new die cutter, you're probably familiar with the urge to use it for everything as soon as you get it. As a card maker, I definitely spent some time in the store looking for images that I could use on cards.

This sailboat was just begging to be used for a little boy card, and I finally got the chance this week for a client. Woo-hoo!

I have the baby onesie die from Papertrey Ink for the Big Shot, but I couldn't pass up the chance to also have the onesie card for the Cameo. 

Add a little duckie, and this onesie card is perfect for baby!

Workspace Wednesday

I'm doing a Workspace Wednesday post today because it is quite the accomplishment that my desk is clean right now. It started with the Scrapbook Circle and Cocoa Daisy August kit reveals and then rolled into my Imaginisce work for August and some work for the new PaperHaus Magazine. Finish up with some commissioned cards and wow… my desk was a train wreck!

Needless to say, I am happy I can see my desk right now. 

I have to share my current washi tape love. I used to really struggle with using tapes and now I love them. These are the current faves on my desk. Those top two orange ones are in the embellishment kit for Cocoa Daisy this month — which is fabulous!

And my 6x6 paper pad addiction. I have a stand right by my desk with these pads at arm's length at all times. My new favorites right on top!

Cheery Lynn Designs {and imaginisce}

This week the ladies at Imaginisce are working with dies from Cheery Lynn. I received the Medium Rose die, the Lace Light Deco Border, and the Doilies and Exotic dies. 


For this card, I used the Imaginisce Christmas Cheer collection and just the Lace Light Deco Border by staggering it with each cut to make the chevron pattern in the background. That pattern is essentially the negative space from the lace border. Then I used the actual lace border die cut to make the wreath on the card. Add one big red ribbon and… viola! 

Next is a layout I made using all 3 of the dies. They made great layers and backgrounds for my layout. 

I used the Medium Rose die and the i-top to make the little flowers. The die even has a hole cut into the center which made it so easy to pair with the small brad daddies for the i-top.

So… do you recognize the lovely lady in pink in these pictures? That is Sara Zenger from ScrapFIT! She came to Rochester for a few days in the end of July and we had a chance to get the families together for dinner and a ball game. And Sara is even nicer in person — if that was even possible! She's already so nice online!!

Here's a better look at the picture in the layout. The boys were being so silly — this is the good picture! It was so fun getting to spend time with Sara off the computer or the phone and to hang out in person. We will definitely be doing that again!

A card for Monday

I have been super busy lately, but of course, not with anything I can share soon. Here is a card I made for my friend. I can't seem to stop using the Everyday Eclectic line from Echo Park! The die cut is from the Cameo (which I am still in love with!)

Echo Park {everyday eclectic}

I got my Paper Issues delivery last week with the new Echo Park Everyday Eclectic collection. I always scoop up the 6x6 paper pads and this one did not disappoint. I love every single sheet in that pad and know that I'll use them all!

And how cute are the stickers?! I have to admit to doing something horrible to my sticker sheet — I cut it! Eek! I used my cloud punch to make my own matching cloud stickers from the EP stickers. I love how they turned out, but I hope I don't regret losing the stickers on the sheet.
